No Country For Old Men and then a few others that are nowhere near as good and thus aren't worth listing
Other than the ones already mention.... Black Hawk Down Tropic Thunder Hotel Rwanda Kill Bill(series) The Pianist Traffic Munich Inglorious Basterds 30 Days Later City Of God Children Of Men The Dark Knight District 9
I had a change of heart and replaced one of mine. I added in Road to Perdition. VERY underrated classic.
Gladiator Lord of the Rings Avatar Inglorious Basterds Babel Honorable mentions: Memento, Hotel Rwanda, District 9, Mystic River, A Beautiful Mind
I had to edit my list (which is in no particular order) to include Inglorious Basterds which is quite simply one of the best films ever made.
I know you have no love for Avatar...and I respect that. You don't like CGI heavy films...and I don't like Spike Lee films. We each have personal preferences. I happen to think that Avatar is a tremendous work of art....from start to finish. I'm amazed at the vision of James Cameron and the world that he created. the plot, the action and the drama was superb as well as the "spirit" of the film. Highest grossing film of all time and second highest grossing film according to inflation adjustment. There had to be more than just good special effects for that to happen, mon ami.
Avatar's a shit movie, but I'll never convince you otherwise and the debate has been done to death. Feel free to place it in your top 5.
You wont convince 83% of the critics on Rotten tomatoes either or the billions around the world that have watched it multiple times, or those in the Academy who nominated it for best picture. It's all good though...we all have differences of opinions. Now, please fuck off.
A personal favorite.....watch it a few times, but haven't seen it in YEARS...time to check it out again.... A.I. Artificial Intelligence.....this one made me tear up a bit...yeah i'm a bitch. :Ant:
Of course I also wanted to eat Frances O'Connor box.....violently and gently...smoothly...yet strongly...
