This movie is under appreciated. A good movie imo. Should have been less religious though.

I like it. It wasn't overly religious at all. Perhaps if it were about the Quran rather than the bible you wouldn't complain about that aspect.

Agreed though, in that it is under-apppreciated

There aren't too many bad Denzel movies.

    True.
The first Denzel movie that I saw was Ricochet. A very good movie.
    Denzel's best performance was X.
It was basically a one man show.

I thought denzel was just as good in training day - one of the scariest characters in movie history imo, he made that guy totally real

Haven't seen book of Eli, I'll check it out

Yeah most of his films are fun. I also liked the runaway train one as well as the drunk pilot one ( can't remember the names).

Ricochet was good as was out of time and man on fire. Hard to pick a single Denzel performance that was his best. I thought he was great in many roles

His three best performances for me

I would agree with two of the three, Malcolm X and Training Day. Those are the two consensus Denzel performances.

I would say his third best performance is Fences. I think he deserved best actor this past year for it, but not complaining too much, as Casey Affleck was very good.

Yeah, he definitely made Alonzo into one of the better villains in history.

Since 2000, Alonzo is a top 3 villain in any movie, right up there with Anton Chigurh and Daniel Plainview.

Denzel was very good in Crimson Tide, but objectively speaking, I think Hackman's performance was better. It was the last great performance of Hackman's career.

The train one was called Unstoppable and though based on a true event it was pretty much 98% fiction.

The pilot one is called Flight and I for one thought it sucked. Maybe the performances carried it but the story sucked.

Agreed on all the above and some honorable mentions:
    Mo' Better Blues
    Glory
    Fallen
    The Bone Collector
    The Hurricane
    Inside Man
    American Gangster
    Safe House
    Two Guns
    The Equalizer

Not classics but when you read his output, pretry much everything he's made is at least watchable....

Safe House was a shit movie. Not even Denzel could save that one. That's gotta be the worst Denzel movie.

I didn't see Two Guns so I can't speak on that one. Maybe I'll watch it this weekend.

All the rest are good movies.

Another Denzel movie I like is Out of Time.

It's true that a lot of Denzel movies are good but a many of them that are don't have good replay value.

Yeah but that's because a lot of them are average movies that he made good. A lot of his movies would have bombed with another big name actor in the role.
