Uncle Roger just had a bad flashback. But on a serious note, it baffles my mind how stupid some people are picking fights with ex-boxers. I guess the idiots figure that just because they don't have it anymore on a pro level, that they've lost their ability to fight all together. Like they can't still fuck up the average joe. They can. Roberto Duran is almost 70 years old, and even now he would fuck up the average joe on the street. Even if that average joe was in his 20s or 30s and in good physical shape.
Reminds me of possibly the dumbest statement I've ever heard in my life. One of my friends (who knows nada of the sport besides the mainstream stars) once SERIOUSLY suggested that 50 Cent could beat Tyson in a street fight. His reasoning, "Mike is old now, he don't got it anymore, 50 could probably take him." I looked at him with the blankest stare...
50 can fight. Coming from the same hood, I can attest to the fact that he had a reputation for knocking dudes out in the street. But there's a far cry between some random Queens dudes, and fuckin Mike Tyson! Mike would smoke 50 in a matter of seconds. "However", the story goes that 50 got the better of Floyd when they got into a scuffle a couple years ago.
That's possible...Mike is a savage killing machine which translates much better into street fighting..floyd is a counter puncher which means he waits for you to punch...or to tell him you're pregnant.
If the guy didn't carry his left so low, you know because of his beer, Rocky might have been in some trouble.
Thing about it, REED Bets Fiddy WOULDN'T Even Try to Fight Mike, Straight Up... From What REED's Read, Fiddy had a BRIEF Ammy Boxing Background and that Experience ALONE Would Give him the Proper Perspective on his Chances of Successfully Throwing Hands w/Mike Tyson... Even an Old Mike... As for Floyd, he's Quite a Bit SMALLER than Fiddy, so it's Conceivable Fiddy Grabbed a Hold of Floyd, and Contained him for a Minute...But in a Boxing Ring, Under Boxing Rules, Floyd Would CLOWN Fiddy... REED
50 ain't stupid like that! 50 and Tyson have a weird history. 50 publicly claimed in a song Tyson's best friend tried to murder him, then basically mocked the guy for dying later. 50 later bought Tyson's old mansion. Tyson is always connected to serious street stuff. Telling Tupac not to hang with Jimmy Henchman, Haitan Jack, and all those psychos who eventually shot Pac the first time. Obviously seeing Pac the night he was killed two years later, and then partying with the Crips who killed Pac later. Then he's connected to all these NY street figures, and allegedly paying $50k to some of these guys to murder 2 guys. X, your insider New York street knowledge is requested.
Old video but funny nontheless I especially like the guy saying ''champ's gonna Knock him out'', a few nanoseconds before it happens, and lockridge being dressed as an old pimp
X how come so many people around you make dumb statements like this. All the years you been posting here you have posted things like this probably over 20 times. You might need some new friends
Lol, while I basically agree with you, you are taking it way too far. No way small ass Roberto Duran takes a young buck in a street fight at 70 y.o. unless the other guy is drunk and totally clueless (like he was in the Rockridge video)
Muscle memory goes a long way. A lot of old boxers and marines might break a hip in an extended fight but they'll knock you out or throw you in a choke in the blink of an eye. "Old man muscle" they call it.
do you guys think roberto duran would shit himself if he ran into jesus of mongrel and his brother in a dark alley in canadia?
didn't he knock out some celebrity tough guy half his age a couple of years ago? I forget the guy's name... some lowlife that I remember hearing on Stern back when he was on regular radio
