Oh, my bad. I thought he was referring to "the Amazing Spider-Man 2" with "I'm gay, but not physically gay" Andrew Garfield.

    Hut*Hut likes this.
  8. Tobey was one annoying cunt. He reminds me of Elijah Wood

  9. I think he was annoying in parts - but I still think Spider-Man and Spider-Man II are great movies.....
JK Simmons is fucking great as J Jonah Jameson!

Is that porn or a real fight?

I agree that JK Simmons was brilliant as JJ Jameson, the best character in those films.

  12. I agree with you. I love both of those films and think JK Simmons did a phenomenal job. The only thing I didn't like about those films was Tobey.

Tobey was less annoying than Garfield tbh. I hated the stupid lizard looking Green Goblin in the first film, cringed at the fact that Spidey gets little actual screen time and is all about Peter Parker and he almost immediately got unmasked. Same in part 2. I mean Parker got his powers, becomes Spider-Man and has like four people found out who he is BEFORE he is unmasked in front of dozens of strangers in a short time span! WTF? GTHOH!! One of the best aspects of the Spider-Man comicbook was Peter's on-going struggles to maintain his secret identity. Him getting unmasked or his identity being revealed never happened during the first 10-15 years of publication. That is one aspect I freaking hate about modern superhero films: almost no one is capable of maintaining a secret identity.

The strangers on the train don't know who he is and are unlikely to see him as Peter Parker.

This isn't a tv series that can stretch the idea of him keeping it from his friends and family for season after season. You complain about Peter Parker getting too much screen time then you complain about them not milking an unoriginal aspect of the character.

Some of those strangers might had cellphones with cameras and Peter/Spidey would have been doomed! You don't need a freaking tv series to maintain a secret identity. "Superman: The Movie" is great and Supe never revealed he was Kent; "The Lone Ranger" never reveals his identity. The old Zorro movies (not the Antonio Banderas remake) the hero keeps his mask. WTF is that 'unoriginal aspect of the character' you talk about?

The part where he has a secret identity and it's tearing him up inside. There's nothing to be done with it.

The point of the train scene was that the people wouldn't snitch on spidey after he saved them.

First Spidey/Peter had no so much an internal struggle 'tearing him up inside' about his secret identity. His struggle was doing all the superhero stuff while going at lengths to keep his true identity a secret for Aunt May, MJ, Flash, Harry, Gwen, JJJ, and his archenemies.

You think none of those strangers wouldn't have told anyone about the single greatest most epic moment of their entire boring lives?

  18. word.

That's part of teh reason why I hate "Man of Steel". Motherfucking Lois Lane knows who he is right off the bat. In fact she knew of his alien powers long before he was even revealed as Superman. Artistic license man...I hate it. Stick to the format!!!!

  19. Spider-Man was on TV last night so thought I'd watch some....it definatetly still holds up in the overall Marvel movies world.
The scenes at the Daily Bugle with Jameson, Robbie Robertson, Betty Brant as small as they were, we're a) funny and b) directly related to how the comics were in the Silver/Bronze Age.

Did the Garfield remakes even have these characters?
    Does the new one?

The Garfield films had no JJ Jameson. Neither the new one.

  21. Just watched this. Terrible. Only Spider-Man 3 was worse.

Waiting for Rainmaker to come up here and again say that Disney bribed the critics. I have a little curiosity about it, but all PC diverse cast turned me off since the day it was announced. I mean, jock Flash Thompson is now an Indian boy??

  23. Yes, that was ridiculous.

The entire film is ridiculous. Worst MCU film to date IMO.

  24. Spider-Man's suit was controlled by some Stark artificial intelligence. I mean...what the fuck?!

    Absolutely horrible film.

  25. Panchyprsss

To be fair we need to remember that this is a SONY film. Marvel did not had 100% creative control as SONY had the final say on everything.

The Garfield ones were the worst by far. Spidey 3 had some good moments.

I liked Homecoming but the hype was too much.

  27. I don't get the hate for teh Garfield films. He did a great job and teh films were fun. Homecoming was horrendous; 1st 3rd of the film he's making a personal video and then goofing around trying to find crime to fight, 2nd 3rd of the film he's being restricted and controlled by some Stark AI in his spidey suit and in the third act he's using some homemade stupid looking suit. Not to mention his annoying friend, too much tony stark, and all his idiot schoolmates. Horrible...the sooner I forget this film the better.

  28. I bet they gave Robert Downey Jr plenty of slime-ball scenes with 'really young hot looking' Aunt Marisa Tomei though...

  29. Also it is a mistake to try to over diversify the cast...to the point of changing the ethnicity of famous comic book characters. I get why they sometimes do it...but you have to pick and choose your battles. Flash was a tall white jock, you can't change him into a short ugly indian cunt. Nick Fury was a bold move but it was an acceptable one. But certain characters have to stay the way they are rendered in the comics.

  30. Panchyprsss

    Panchyprsss Clogg's LORD PROTECTOR

agREED 100%. However in Nick Fury's case it was changed to a black man that looked like Samuel L. Jackson in the comicbooks before the real Jackson played the role. So in Nick Fury's case it was totally acceptable if you had followed the comicbook changes.
