Matrix. first was interesting for its originality; the others were pointless

and most horror movies which had sequels ever. scream, nightmare on elm street, halloween. all classics, all had vastly inferior sequels.

Take The Fast & The Furious out because that franchise has produced far better sequels and we're on #8.

The Magnificent Seven. The first one is a classic, but the sequels (and the remakes) were awful.

Judgement Day was a damn good sequel.

They shoulda stopped it there though. Never should have been a third.

I'm sorry you didn't enjoy it. The movie was slick, ironic, and it had a heart.

The Whole Nine Yards. I thought it was fun film and quite enjoyed it. The sequel was awful.

Blade Runner 2049 (from Blade Runner)
Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps (from Wall Street)

    The ultimate:
    Thw Two Jakes (from Chinatown)

    Agreed.

There should have been another Psycho.
Yeah, Wall Street 2 was horrible.

I've never seen The Two Jakes, and really, I have no desire to. I can't imagine it holding a candle to Chinatown.

The Exorcist sequels were all inferior follow ups.

All sequels to horror classics are inferior. Just about 98% of the time.

Just recently, I've heard that The Ring 2 was HORRIBLE.

    Correction:

Judgement day was a damned good standalone action film. However it was a TERRIBLE sequel.

"Scream" REVIVED the Horror Movie Genre, Singlehandedly...& it Put a FRESH Spin on It...

It Also Introduced REED to Rose McGowan...

I enjoyed the first 3 scream films equally. I never saw the one that came after that

I dunno what the Hell you guys see in Scream. It was a teeny bopper slasher film, that's it. As far as teeny bopper slasher films go, I think Urban Legend was better.

Yall are acting like Scream was some slasher classic like Halloween, or Black Christmas.

Okay. I see your point, and can somewhat agree with it.

Either way, the first one was a much better movie.

    The 2%:
Bride of Frankenstein was better than the original.
Dawn of The Dead is superior to 'Night of the Living Dead'
Aliens is head & shoulders more entertaining that the first one.

    A more recent example:

The Purge 2 was a lot better than the first one.

I'm a big fan of classic horror, but Dawn of the Dead is ridiculously overrated. It has a fucking pie fight for Christ's sake.

The original is a classic in every sense of the word.

No, it Was a PARODY of a Teeny Bopper Slasher Film that Checked All the Teeny Bopper Slasher Film Boxes, w/a SMARTER, Infinitely More UNPREDICTABLE Script...

CLEARLY "Scream" is a Classic; Again, it REINVIGORATED the Genre of Horror Flicks and To This Day, You'll See @ Least 1 Motherfucker Dressed Like the Killer, Every Halloween...

You'd Have to Be a COMPLETE Cinematic Sourpuss to Have NOT Been Entertained by "Scream"...It was a FUN Horror Flick that Didn't Take Itself Toooooooooooo Seriously, Yet Kept You Guessing...

Agreed. Scream was very good. The sequel was equally good.
