    With one important classification:

    1. Those in which you originally disagreed with the judges but then ultimately agreed with the decision

    2. Cases when you originally agreed with the judges but then ultimately disagreed with the decision

When I was the second biggest Floyd nut hugger on the forum behind Sly, I didn't wanna admit that Floyd lost the first Castillo fight.

Looking back objectively now.... Floyd lost the first Castillo fight.

At the very best, PBF deserved a draw.

I knew it even then that Floyd lost, but made up a bunch of bullshit reasons why I believed he eeked it out.

I was younger then, and less objective.

Today, if I feel one of the my favorite fighters lost and got a gift, I'd say so right away.

That is interesting. Because my guess is most instances of people changing their minds are going to be cases when they initially disagreed with the judges.

One instance I can think of is DLH-Mosley II.

First viewing, I swore that Oscar won and called it bullshit.

Rewatching it, it was helluva lot closer than it first appeared. I could see how Shane won.

As per usual, Oscar's shitty stamina blew it for him down the stetch.

DLH Tito is first to mind. I had Oscar (in my head) three or four up. Rewatch and you can see argument for 6.5-5.5.

Also I watch Lewis-Holy 2 recent and I'm super unsure about outcome. Lewis does not aggress a lot.

Floyd Castillo 1. I was influenced by HBO commentary when I watched it live (and the fact that Floyd wasn't doing as well as expected) but upon first rewatch (and every subsequent rewatch ) Floyd not only won but won clearly.

    Good thread Double

Agreed. I can't think of one example where I initially agreed with the judges and then changed my mind

Saying Floyd "clearly" won the first Castillo fight is one of the most biased statements I've ever heard.

At BEST, Floyd eeked by the skin of his teeth.

    LMAO @ won clearly.

    Taylor-Hopkins 1 is a good example.

In the initial viewing, Taylor won the "event" to the extent that I believed he had edged it by a RAZOR CLOSE margin.

Upon further viewings, Hopkins won clearly. Hopkins won BOTH Taylor fights, actually.

Roy won the first Tarver fight. Barely, but I thought he legitimately pulled it out.

I can't see it. He landed some good body shots here and there but other than that I remember Tarver going off on him on the ropes in 30 second spurts. Other than that they both didn't do much. Those rope flurries won it for Tarver.

Tarver blew it. He had a dead man in front of him, and let the dead man outfight him down the stretch. I had Roy pulling it out 7-5.

God I wish that milkdud sonuvabitch had faced the 90s Jones.

Roy pulled it out as much as Holyfield pulled it out. Even Roy knew he lost. That's why he did the rematch. When do you see Roy doing rematches? Of fights he "won" ?

Roy exposed himself in the 3rd fight. Round 5 proves he physically still had it but was too petrified of punishment to attack.

Tarver beats ANY version of Roy. A prime Roy attacks more (= more openings) and as we found out Tarver carries internet connection disabling power so all it takes is one clean shot on that crystal jaw and it's sleepy time.

    Daddy will always be daddy.

Clearly won. Floyd won the first 5 rounds and he also won the the two rounds which had point deductions. You can argue that Floyd won the 11th too. Castillo won rounds 6,7,9, and 12....after that you have to try hard to give him another. Where HBO fucked up is that they have Castillo rounds 8 and 10 and that influenced everyone but look at those rounds again and Floyd won them and that's the difference in the scoring

Also Quartey-DLH. On first live watch I agreed was close and leaned with DLH. You watch now and bazooka is the clearer aggressor. If you use knockdown - whether you believe or not it was called - Quartey looks to been screwed.

There's a better case for maidana winning the first fight with Floyd than castillo

I completely disagree. Maidana fought a hell of a fight, but ultimately I think Floyd won close but clear.

Castillo simply won that fight, I mean I'm probably more of a Floyd fan than Castillo, but JLC won that fight clear as day. Came forward, controlled the fight, landed more shots - good shots too. It's the only fight of Floyd's career he clearly lost IMO.

Please provide your round by round scores because that's how it's scored. Clinton won the popular vote but Trump won the electoral college.

    Mine are:

Floyd, Floyd, Floyd, Floyd, Floyd, Castillo, Castillo, Floyd, Castillo, Floyd, Even, Castillo

I'm not saying maidana won...just saying that that fight was closer than the Castillo fight

The Hell it was. Maidana ran Floyd close, but ultimately, Floyd won 7-5, with 5 being the most rounds one could give to Chino.

Castillo beat Floyd 7-5. Period. I'll re-score the fight sometime soon.

When you rewatch it I'm guaranteeing you that you won't find 7 rounds to give Castillo. In fact just watch rounds 8 and 10...forget the rest. Score those for Floyd unlike HBO and you'll realize that you cannot give Castillo more than 5 of the other 10

Do you have those stats for pbf/castillo ii, which iirc was even closer than the first on the judge's cards?
