Triple header at junior middleweight. Jermell Charlo vs Erickson Lubin Lara vs Terrell Gausha Jarrett Hurd vs Austin Trout Three excellent matchups! I pick Erickson Lubin to score the upset over Charlo, and by stoppage. I've always thought less of Jermell than Jermall. Lubin, I think, is the real deal, but we'll find out. Jarrett Hurd is a very solid technician and Trout, although past his prime, represents a big step up for Hurd. Best tripleheader in awhile. Can't wait for it!
i consider hurd the best fighter on the card. from what Ive seen of lubin i suspect he is a suspect. 2 of the fights are decent but gausha seems like a suspect as well and lara should outclass him.
Lubin is only 21 bro. Even if Charlo does beat him, it won't mean the end for him. I think Lubin's a very dangerous puncher, and I think he'll catch Jermell. We can agree on Gausha though. He's looked very underwhelming in the fights I've seen of him. Lara will tattoo him. What would have made this card AMAZING is if you take out Gausha, and have Lara vs Andrade as the main event.
really good card. I want to see more of the Charlo and hurd. seems like they might be the future of boxing
Yeah, Charlo might be the future of boxing... Jermall. I just don't see it in Jermell. Hurd's really solid. Doesn't have any physical talent that leaps out at you, no blinding handspeed, no devastating power, but he's solid across the board. Lubin has big time power and fast hands, and at only 21, might be the one with the most potential. Andrade IMO would beat every fighter on this card, but he doesn't seem to have many fans on here.
to be honest, I only saw Jermall, and he really impress me. Big, fast and powerful, with a good enough technique. BTW their mother should be pistol whipped for giving them these names.
I've only seen one of the Charlos and I was impressed, especially considering I haven't seen much hype surrounding them. Like JOM said - big, fast, powerful, pretty crisp technique. Looks dangerous for sure.
This triple header is actually not as good as the upcoming hbo tripe header with chocolito's rematch. Still good though. I give showtine credit for showing triple headers regularly. And seems like hbo is having to follow suit
Hater. I love the lower weights. Better technique. Better stamina. Less holding. Seemingly, better talent pool overall. More competitive fights overall (flyweight matchups may have higher threshold of quality to make it on tv).
If the charlo card was in LA I'm not sure whether I'd go. Got tickets the first day they went on sale for Sept 9
As you guys know I love boxing, and I love the lower weights - but for some reason I've never really enjoyed flyweight fights. Didn't enjoy watching Lopez, I don't really enjoy watching Gonzalez (though did enjoy his fight with the Thai actually, that was really good). I find Inoue more compelling to watch than any other flyweight. I tend to enjoy fighters between bantamweight and middleweight the most, by far.
Quillin, who was also on the card, won a UD over a 22-21-3 Dashon Johnson who sparred with Conor McGregor
Naming Your Twins Jermell and Jermall is "Pistol Whipped" Worthy???... REED Will SAFELY ASSume There's Fucked Up Names Within YOUR Ethnicity Too... REED
To be fair REED, I don't think that's what he was gettin at. He means because their names are nearly identical it makes it confusing, given they're twins.
Off topic, but The Fighting farmer has to be one of the funniest fighters in boxing. Look at these two clips The Handshake Frock asking Floyd a "question"
Exactly this. Jermall and jermell are pretty cool name, but naming twins like that is beyond retarded
I feel the same way, I was like wtf when I found out about the twins and their names. I have nothing against the names either, but giving them almost the same name is plain retarded
They're timestamped you mook, or they should be at least. The first one is at 12:47 and the second is at 34:57. The second one is fucking funny, I've never seen it before.
