I think both guys are saving all of the drama for fight night. I expect serious fireworks tomorrow night.

Both guys look ready, GGG looks more cut than I usually see him ( perhaps overtrained?). I think GGG is going to start fast but he'll receive more damage than he is used to and it'll take its toll on him down the stretch. Contrary to popular opinions, the last 3rd of the fight will belong to Canelo

Apparently Canelo, during the stare down told Gennady "I'm going to knock you out". Canelo seems unusually passionate about this fight. I think he's pissed about the perception that he was scared of GGG and tried to avoid him as long as possible. He seems to genuinely feel he can knock GGG out and will seemingly try to do so. If that's the case it's going to be a fantastic fight because we already know that GGG only has knockout on his mind.

Canelo's final word to GGG before he left the arena was " the talking stops tomorrow".

What will shock a lot of guys on this forum is that they'll realize that Canelo is much tougher than any previous Golovkin opponent. They will also be surprised to see his subtle defensive and ring generalship skills that will be the reason why he'll be hitting GGG more frequently than in return.

Canelo took 6 rounds to KO someone little Pakistani with a Waterford Crystal chin...9 Rounds to KO some skinny tomato-can called 'Liam'.

    At 154lb.

It was actually a 155 pound middleweight fight. Canelo's best win at middleweight is......... Khan [IMG]

I think Canelo went from being overrated to underrated and now overrated again... Doesn't mean he can't win this fight.

But I still feel the rightful favorite is Triple G. The styles in this fight alone, favor him. Canelo's chances will largely depend on how well he deals with the power.

    Yeah you're right!

You know what else people forget about Canelo? In that last 3rd of the fight vs Mayweather, he looked ready to quit and walk out the ring.

    Mayweather. Little-man-can't-punch Mayweather!

How is he going to cope vs Golovzilla?

You're right, he gave up mentally and became scrubby. I love that 11th round when Floyd was mocking him for punching the ropes in the spot Floyd previously occupied :D

He was also being stung and backed up by lil Floyd's right hand. LOL at the last 3rd of the fight belonging to Canelo. Canelo will barely see the last 3rd of the fight, he'll be done by round 9, getting mercilessly pummeled into bolivian by the Kazakh recking machine.

Golovkin is going to fucking crush him.

    Leopards never change their spots.
I remember watching Mayweather x Canelo and right after I posted something on Facebook along the lines of: "Canelo. Bitch"

A ton of people are going on the presumption that one 'flat' fight vs a massive Daniel Jacobs and one uppercut landed last year by Squeaky 'Special K' (Golovkin merely flinched at it before getting down to destroying)...that Golovkin is borderline shot.

Btw, have you noticed NO-ONE has even mentioned how much these guys are getting paid tomorrow?
    I don't have a clue...

    How it should be.

Anyone noticed how Sly is super-hyped & supporting of Canelo to win tomorrow?

    No prizes for guessing why.

You can't leave it alone, can you?
The fucking shame of it all....still! :D

I was actually saying the same thing earlier today, there tends to be bizarre kneejerk reactions in boxing, to someone not looking great, or of course losing, and that of course meaning the person is no good or shot or whatever.

I feel like there's been a really absurd kneejerk reaction to GGG's two most recent fights.

Yeah, Brook managed to win 1 round and land a pretty nice uppercut that got Gennady's attention before he carried on beating him down and basically ending his career. Brook was undefeated and generally considered an elite fighter, Golovkin lost 1 round, broke his eye socket, finished him in 5 rounds and effectively ended his career. Yet what people take away from that performance is Gennady is borderline shot? Um, ok [IMG]

Same with Jacobs. Jacobs is a huge skilled middleweight with power, and Golovkin won clearly and took almost no damage. I'd say that's a pretty decent performance. I mean fuck, I don't recall people saying Floyd was shot after uninspiring points wins over legends like Baldomir.

It was not a spectacular performance, but a solid one, and certainly nothing to suggest Gennady is shot or even close to it.

Golovkin by surprisingly easy, brutal stoppage :emoji_flag_kz:

Everyone looks bad against Floyd. He has a style that makes people look slow and sloppy. GGG may big big and strong and powerful but he's not as slippery or unpredictable as Floyd.....it's a different fight entirely.

MWS, one of us is going to be embarrassed tomorrow night. Lol

By the way....Jeffy is a mosquito but stepping razor red x ( lol!) is one ignorant wanker. This guy knows nothing about anything yet has the audacity to challenge me and others. The guy needs to stay in his lane and stick to those Brazilian orgies and leave analysis to the rest of us

I've casually forgotten more about boxing than you'll ever know.

As others have stated in many threads that you've trolled before, you're the worst type of boxing 'front-runner': focussing all your 'knowledge' on a handful of fighters from a specific area and shoe-shining your way throughout threads.

Clever, but you don't fool anyone...

You'd like to believe this wouldn't you. I've never seen any meaningful insight from you. All you do is continue the grumpy old man act and it's long past tiresome.

That's why it's comical that he automatically ASSUMES Floyd is the GOAT, when he has vitually no knowledge of a LARGE percentage of all time greats.

Sly admitted last week that he had never heard of Ismael Laguna.

    He's a borderline casual.

Lol!! Doesn't matter how many times I say that I don't rate Floyd at the GOAT you will always eventually come back and make that claim. Whatever floats your boat.

    Borderline casual my ass

Not knowing who Laguna is, that is some very casual shit by fightbeat standards ... unacceptable

It'd be like a guy posting on a forum about rappers and rap history and calling himself an expert and not knowing who EPMD were... it isn't not knowing who RUN DMC were but it's still unforgivable

Or a guy posting on a forum about rock n roll guitarists not knowing who Dave Davies is ... not the same as not knowing Jimi Hendrix, but among diehards? Unacceptable

Canelo needs some next-level improvement in defensive boxing to get close here. Gaybox is a big boy and will pound little Canelo if given half a chance.

As much as I like GGG and will put money there, a Canelo win, in particular a BIG one, would be great for boxing.

    But alas it won't happen.

    Lol

Y'all have the incorrect definition of "casual fan" if you think I'm a casual fan. Being a fan of a contemporary fighter doesn't automatically make you a casual fan. Never having seen a fight or not being familiar with the name of a certain fighter doesn't automatically make you a casual fan.

I wouldn't be posting on these forums with you madmen for almost 20 years if I was a casual fan. Lol

I watched GGGs last two fights again last night (because a fighter his age is only as good as his last two fights) and I watched Canelo's last two fights as well as another one from a couple years ago....and did a complete styles analysis ( this is my routine before every big fight) and..........

I'm even more convinced that Canelo wins. GGG doesn't like it to the body, no fighter does but in his case it's rather apparent. This was made clear to me in the Jacobs fight. Also people that are assuming that GGG has better stamina than Canelo are going to be shocked tonight. Canelo may take breaks in the middle of rounds...but that's just his style. The more important point is that Canelo is as strong in the later rounds as his is in the early rounds. GGG is significantly slower and more sloppy in the later rounds compared with the early rounds. Also GGG takes breaks too when he just follows the opponent with pressure but doesn't throw many punches. In those brief breaks Canelo is going to explode punches to both head and body and this will eventually take its toll on GGG. I'm not predicting a KO, although a late TKO is possible, but I'm predicting a 7-5 decision win to Canelo which he would have earned.
