Canelo doesn't last 12 against Hagler.

GGG's jab befuddled Canelo. What happens with Hagler even better jab and from both stances ? He wouldn't have ignored Canelo's body either. Hagler would force Canelo to fight and never let him get any chances to coast. Canelo's chin looked solid but that just means he absorbs more punishment before they stop it.

Hagler isn't a pressure fighter like GGG and doesn't hit as hard as GGG so I don't kno why people would assume that he stops Canelo when Canelo has proven time and time again that he has a very good chin and that he's not that easy to hit.

Prime Hagler couldn't stop Duran who was much smaller than Canelo.

Duran was Hagler's first superfight and he gave him a bit too much respect early. When he put on the gas he took over the fight and won it decisively.

Hagler wasn't as big a puncher as GGG but he had quicker hands and feet, longer reach and his punches were much sharper than the GGG we saw last Saturday. Hagler won't spark him out but Canelo would eat a lot more shots than he did against GGG and would definitely get hit to the body much more.

And Hagler could definitely go into pressure fighter mode or be mobile to force Canelo out of his comfort zone.

Hagler stops a fatigued Canelo in the mid to late rounds after tattooing his face with jabs, right hooks, and uppercuts. Hagler is better in pretty much every aspect of boxing. Good fighter vs. great fighter.

But given that GGG has proven to be much more of a KO artist than Hagler was (GGG would have knocked out Watts, Monroe and Antuofermo 10 times outta 10) , please explain to me how GGG wasn't able to stop Canelo but Hagler would have? What am I missing besides the fact that his name is Hagler and he's more legend than GGG?

Considering that Danny Jacobs and now Canelo lasted all 12 with the current GGG it's not out of the question that guys like Watts or Monroe would either. The Philly fight scene was a dog eat dog world and the young Hagler took fights on short notice, etc. He avenged the losses and draw by kayo. Look at Hagler's championship run, only Duran and Leonard lasted the distance.

Hagler would light Canelo up with his jab, longer reach, quicker hands and bodypunching. Hagler's stamina was unreal and he would force a pace that would cause Canelo to work harder than he's ever had to in a fight and despite this rep as a big puncher Canelo's power wouldn't deter Hagler a bit. GGG is a bigger puncher but he doesn't have the dog in him that Hagler had especially during his championship years. Hagler would impose himself on Canelo and force him to fight.

The original post said 15 rounds. No way in hell spurt fighting Canelo lasts 15 rounds with Hagler.

Even if Canelo sees the final bell, which is a major if, he's getting beaten up. He doesn't have the IQ or skills to trouble Hagler.

I can't see how it was anyhow given that Hagler would win by stoppage. He didn't always go for the kill and Canelo seems durable. Hagler would befuddle.him of course and win about 11-4 or so
