Well this looks like a carbon copy of the animated film!

Alright this film has gone down the toilet for me. Disney has inserted their first official gay character with the first LGBTQ moment in Disney's history. Big turn-off. Hopefully the film will not be as successful now to not encourage Disney (under the pressure of GLAAD) TO CONTINUE RUINING THEIR CLASSICS.

While the film is expected to open to huge numbers this weekend with predictors putting it at $120+ million, the whole gay angle has already given the film two black eyes: AFA (American Family Association) has declared a boycott to the film and is asking Christians and conservatives to not support this film. But worst news came from China as the World's biggest market has trashed Disney for their 'gay agenda' and will NOT allow the film to play in their country. China is one of Disney's most lucrative markets and could be losing close to $300 million between these two boycotts. Russia wanted to ban the film, but now will allow it...after slapping it with a 16+ rating! Add to that the film's exorbitant budget and marketing estimated to be over $300 million. So this film will need to make at least $1 billion just to break even. Big gamble.

Well I definitely wont be watching it now. What happened to good old prince meets princess fairy tales? Now it's prince gets shagged up the ass by gardener? smh

 

That aspect if still there.....but of course, it doesnt appease everyone else, does it?



I wonder when Muslim-friendly movies will start coming out....

Okay this movie is on Netflix now so I watched it and apparently is the version they screened in China because there wasn't any gay kiss, the gay character was toned down and the most gay part was that the talking dresser dressed three goons like ladies and one of them smiled in approval. That was it! Competent, gorgeous looking, very predictable remake. 7/10

 

found this movie painful to watch. dragged along to watch it in a cinema in China (the gay subplot seemed pretty evident to me). they basically took the animated version and replaced many of the charming features with clumsy dumbed down features.

and daniel radcliffe and emma watson seem doomed to spend their entire adulthoods in a post-Harry Potter depression - they just don't seem to be very good at acting.

 

The version I watched on Netflix was more tame and there wasn't the much hyped gay love confession and kiss which prompted GLAAD to praise this film to the ends of the universe. LeFou here is a closet gay who has an obvious crush on Gaston, but that's it.

 

Wouldn't you like to see one of these studio owners say when these producers and directors put fags into Disney movies to say, "Get that sonuvahomo off the screen, he's fired! He's FIIRED!"

 

ah, ok

those two actors who played gaston and lefou were just about the best things in the movie.

 

Actually, you are right: they had more chemistry and better lines than the two leads or the one-dimensional secondary actors.

I also want to point out that even as a fantasy this film had gigantic plot holes. I mean there is this mysterious abandoned castle that apparently no one knows where it is, but at the end it seems like it was just a walking distance from the village when the villagers, torches in hand WALKED to it. Also it seems that many of the 'cursed' castle people had family or relatives in the village when the spell got broken. How come the villagers didn't remembered that?
