"True Romance" I really like "Dogs", but "True Romance" is just a tighter, more professionally directed movie. I know Quentin wrote both, but I always considered Tony Scott a more visually interesting director. Also much cleaner with his edits, which has always been one of Quentins weak points...............though he's gotten better with it over the years.
A closer comparison might be "True Romance" and "Pulp Fiction". Ironic in a way that Tony Scott really was perhaps the best "pulp" director around. He just happened to do it on a bigger budget then most, so he never got the accolades of the art house critics.
True Romance over Pulp Fiction. I think Pulp Fiction is overrated. I'd take Jackie Brown over Pulp Fiction.
True Romance has mad rewatchability value over Dogs. Loved all those intro scenes talking about Sonny Chiba films.
