Watched this great drama the other day in Netflix and ranked it as the Best Movie of 2017. Magnificent performances by the lead actors Robert Redford and Jane Fonda as widowed elderly neighbors who have barely known each other even after living next door for decades and now started connecting when Addie (Fonda) proposes to Louis (Redford) to sleep together at night just to have company as both are very lonely 'and the nights are the worst'. No sex involved as they are too old for that. The film explores the daily routine and feelings of elderly people and the situations they deal with. Redford gives probably the best performance of his career and deserves an Oscar, but since this film went straight to Netflix I don't know if it qualifies. My main complain was the film ending which was kind of a letdown, but thinking about it later, it was the most realistic conclusion due to the climax events. Highly recommended for those who loves drama. 8.8/10
Their agreement is just to lay down in bed and talk to each other until they fall asleep. Of course a bond is bound to happen, but will they do it at their age?
