Upset: have to go with DeGale. Dude was 1-100 in some places pre-fight.
Have to have a think about the prospect.

Forgot about Tete's KO. That gets my vote over Wilder-Stiverne.

It was 1 of the BETTER Years for Boxing in Quite Some Time, You're Just Obviously INCAPABLE of Looking PAST Your Heavyweight Bias...

Rungvisai-Chocolatito I was FOUL Filled and Didn't Possess 1/10th the DRAMA of Joshua-Klitschko...Good Fight in its Own Right, but NOT on the Same Level...And if You've Actually SEEN Joshua - Klit, You KNOW it...

Fighter of the year - Loma
FOTY - without stakes involved, Roman-Salido, but because Joshua-wald pussy was a bigger fight I'd give that the award
KOTY- the fastest KO of are times Tete-Gonya
Upset of the year is a toss-up between DeGale (who's career is in tatters of course) losing to Truax or Shiming losing to Kimura
Prospect of the year - Eubanks Jr. never fought for a world title belt (no the Chudinov fight doesn't count, it was a WBA interim title), so he gets it (I'm struggling to think of anyone else)

I don't know if I'd call Eubank Jr a prospect. I mean he's not exactly a 6-0 novice and has proven himself to some degree. I think he elevated himself beyond prospect level after giving Saunders a pretty close fight.

    Fighter of the year: Ward.

I was more impressed with Ward stopping the larger Krusher Kovalev than with Lomachenko stopping the much smaller Rigondeaux. Also Ward outright stopped Kovalev whereas Rigo stopped throwing punches and then quit.

I can see that perspective, but there are additional things to look at. Ward had two meaningful wins both against the same opponent, and both had controversy surrounding them. Even if you don't accept it as a robbery, Kovalev could have easily got the decision in the first fight and very few would have argued. Most observers felt he won.

Loma had three title defenses and three "no mas" endings which is probably unprecedented. Yes Rigo was smaller but he was clinically outboxed, (which very few people thought possible) not smashed and run over by some tank.

He did? I thought he won on low blows and clearly lost the first fight.

Yep. I agree Ward's win over Kovalev, questionable as it was, was better than Loma's over Rigo, which is why I named them both as candidates. But it was Ward's lone result

No, Ward COMPROMISED Kovalev w/Legit Body Blows, Rendered him DEFENSELESS on the Ropes, then Landed 2-3 Low Blows Just Prior to the Bout Being Stopped...

But Don't Let the TRUTH Get in the Way of a Good Conspiracy...

It's "Cute" to Throw Ward in the Mix but there's NOfuckingWAY Any Site or Publication Will Anoint him 2017's "Fighter of the Year"...

Lomachenko without a doubt for fighter of the year.

Fight of the year is Joshua-Wlad.

Crawford-Indongo for KO of the year.

Conspiracy? Before our eyes, he won the fight on a foul. You said it yourself. Win was controversial at best, which is a shame for Ward because he was clearly winning.
