Thurman's movement is decent. Certainly nothing compared to Leonard or Robinson. He's quite findable, and vulnerable at close quarters. I'd take both Spence and Crawford to light him up something serious. And a pre-Golovkin Brook would have beaten Thurman IMO.
I could envision Thurman buzzing Spence early. Thing is, Spence doesn't let that shit deter him. He's the most focused, undeterred young fighter we've seen in a long time. Keith will need an early stoppage, cause there's no way in Hell he's outboxing Spence. Flash aside, Spence is a much better boxer than Run Time, with a higher ring IQ.
Thurman had major problems with the retard pressure of Porter, constantly backing off in straight lines into the ropes, getting hurt with body shots. How the hell is he going to cope with the calculated pressure of Spence, who is both bigger and much, much better than Porter, hits way harder and has one of the best body attacks in the sport? I legit can't see a way Thurman wins.
Ironic that he calls himself "One Time" considering that. It's almost as ill fitting as Danny Garcia calling himself "Swift."
How bout Spence versus the junior middles? I think Lara would present Spence with more danger than a Thurman or Crawford would. After the Trout fight, I'm confident that Spence would beat the fuck outta Jared Hurd.
Doubtful. Spence cuts the ring too well, and it's not a stretch to say he likely has the best stamina in the sport. I've never even noticed Spence breathing hard in there. His stamina is amazing.
I don't think Thurman is a bad fighter, it's just a stylistic mismatch. I think Thurman causes Crawford more problems, even though I still pick Crawford over Spence.
I actually agree. Spence is a better fighter than Thurman...it's just that from what I can see...Thurman is not the type of fighter that goes quietly into the night.
Been very few welterweights in history who had TRUE one punch fight ending power. Only 3 in the last 40 years, really... Cuevas, Hearns, and Trinidad.
Yeah, Thurman is no one-time KO artist. What I like about him though is his ability to land fast, big shots from all sorts of angles that surprise his opponent. It's very possible that he'll land some of these kind of punches that will make Spence blink and take notice.
Crawford is not a better ww than thurman. His best win is eurobum postol for fuck sake. When tburman was facing these kinds of guys, he was alsoblowing them out of the water
Yeah that would be an interesting fight. Porter is probabky the toughest ww around. Would like to see if hes abke to endure spence attacks
Thurman hasn't blown any fighter out of the water since Soto KarASS. Postol is so much of a bum that Cherry Garcia wanted no parts of him.
There's nothing interesting about Spence-Porter. Best case for Porter he lasts the distance... but he loses every round. If it ain't Crawford or Thurman in there with Spence , it ain't interesting. Porter and Garcia would have no shot in Hell, esp Garcia. I still think Peterson whupped Garcia.
At least Porter would come to fight and win and we could measure how Spence fairs against him compared to when Thurman fought Porter.
Yep... Porter’s GAME and Perpetually AGGRESSIVE...Spence Wins but it’d Be Interesting to See if he Could BREAK Porter... On Paper, Porter’s the LEAST Breakable Welter Spence Could Face and Coupled w/his (Lack of) Height and Creative Use of his HEAD Presents a STYLE We’ve Yet to See Spence Encounter... Though REED Had Kell Brook Beating Porter 8-4, 9-3, Brook was Content Picking Porter Apart from the Perimeter... Spence WOULDNT Necessarily Take That Approach and It’d Be FUN to Watch in REED’s Opinion... REED
Yeah, cause the guy was at the time a lightly regarded unknown and brought nothing to the table cashwise
