Sicario

This is another movie where I thought was very good upon first viewing, but when I watched it again is actually a GREAT FUCKING MOVIE!

 

My favourite movie of 2015.
From start to finish...excellent

 

Yeah, looking at the list of 2015 movies, I'd agree Sicario is the best.

I didn’t think much of it. It’s probably a gets better on extra viewings kind of movie.

 

It does. Well, at least it did for me.

 

This one is in the queue. Will watch on the weekend. Right after I give Lebowski another shot. Fucking terrible film but I said I'd rewatch it.

 

You know how I'm like with movie ratings before and after repeated viewings.
I'm a tough customer.

However I have watched it since and gave it extra marks.

 

I'll back you on this. I don't remember what I wanted Sicario at first, but it does get better upon repeat viewings.

Funny, a year and a half ago, X AND Magus were both calling this film forgettable, and now it's suddenly the best film of the year from both of them.

Myself, I was conflicted about it. I enjoyed it, but found it kind of cold at the same time. Opening scene got me pumped up for the movie, expecting sustained "Black Hawk Down" type action and cinematography, but they never really lived up to that scene again, the rest of the film.

 

Movies have a tendency to grow on you, and vice versa, DIMINISH.

I famously thought No Country was forgettable and highly overrated the first time I saw it... now I think it's a masterpiece.

Conversely, I once thought Shawshank was the best movie ever at one point.... now I don't even consider it a top movie of the 90s.

Thats what happens with many movies and music albums - on initial release they get ´mixed reviews´ but over time, they get re-evaluated the re-assessed.
Obviously for me, I just took one look at it and said ´Shit´ cos.....that´s how I roll, fwock!

Sicario is okay.....the opening 5-10 minutes it made me think this SHIT is going to be EPIC....then it wasn't...still very good movie..then the border scene......the final dinner scene.....very well put together scenes....

I paused it halfway through and haven't went back to it since Sunday. Which means it didn't captivate me. Which in turn means it's definitely not great. I will say it's on pace to be 7/10.
