First, the trailer basically gives away everything the movie os about and second, how many more horror movies do we get these days proclaiming 'horrific', 'terrifying', 'spine-chilling', 'best/scariest/most original horror in years' blah-blah-blah', and when you finally watch it.....it ain't sheeeeeiittt?
The witch was pretty damn good IMO. Not in a demonic/Horror movie way, but in a slow burn, biblical sort of way.
I only watch horror movies in the theaters now. I find it more entertaining watching other people be scared.
The Babadook was fucking awful! It Follows was a quality horror flick. Sinister was pretty scary... much moreso than Insidious.
I agree with this. The Babadook is extremely overrated. I haven’t seen the recent sequels of Insidious, Sinister or The Conjuring. I heard the more recent sequel of Ouija: Origin Of Evil was pretty good but I didn’t see that one either. I liked It Follows enough that I watched it twice which for me is really saying something.
The babadok was great. The fact that it's more a movie about depression than anything just gives it that extra boost.
This movie is getting rave reviews and has an 8.3 on IMDB and an 81% on rottentomatoes. It’s also being called the next Exorcist by many critics and that is post viewing not pre.
It won't. People will purely focus on the 'freaky-looking kid': "Oooohhhh she have me nightmares, she did!!! Can't get her face out of my mind!!" Oh fuck OFF.
I liked The Babadook. Sinister was a piece of shit by Ethan Hawke was great in it. Has anyone seen First Reformed? The trailer looks good. A little heavy on quote snippets but still looks good.
I watched this last night. Some creepy moments for sure, but not much tension and borrowed a lot from other movies of the demonology/witchcraft/magick genre. 2hrs10mins long but wanted it to end 3/4 the way through. Toni Collette was good as the slowly-deranging Mom, the kid's fucked-up face loses its disturbing aspect after 5 mins and it all ends up very The Sentinal/The Wicker Man/The Witch, etc. Not a bad film (I gave it what I expected it to be), and certainly not way better than the brilliant A Quiet Place, so Xplosive can "go fock yo Motha", basically. 7/10
Why would anyone compare this movie, on any level, with House Of Wax (I'm assuming you mean the 1953 version, becsuse only a total cuntbopper would even mention the , 'remake'), I've no idea...
