I like this genre. Can be fun

    Oblivion?
    Time Machine?
    Book of Eli
    Any Mad Max films?
    I am Legend?
    Matrix?
    Children of Men?
    Waterworld?
    12 Monkeys?

I wont include Planet of the apes....since the post apocalyptic nature of the film was a twist at the end.

    For starters, it's not 'post-Apocalyptic'.
Second, it's a pretty shit sequel.
And thirdly, you haven't seen it.

Mad Max 2 for me. Some other good ones on the list. Do the Terminator films count?

I haven’t watched the last two terminator films but the first 3 were pre-apocalyptic, so they don’t count.

Not really - the entire plot of the first two revolves around a robot being sent back from a post-apocolyptic future to kill an important person 'in the past'. I'd count 'em.

I've only seen the first three, so I'll take your word for it.

That is my all time favorite Apes film. I was 11 years old when I watched it at the then best movie theater in the area. It blew my mind. Love it since.

Watched it again the other night - it's not bad.
Don't know why it gets so much criticism.

The part where Brent goes into the cave and realizes its the remains of Queensboro Plaza subway station in NYC - good but obviously the 'shock' is now diluted somewhat.

Well, it was for the character, but the audience already knew as the film starts with the ending of the first one. So even if someone hadn't seen the first one, that first scene revealed everything. That is one of the best scenes of the film. Amazing set designs, matte paintings, ilumination and sound editing.
