Usyk vs Briedis - FOTY?

If you didn't see the cruiserweight war yesterday, I assure you it is worth seeing. High-paced, skilled all-out action.

The fight was the semi-final of the WBSS tournament

 

It was a very good fight. I thought Usyk won more comfortably than the official cards though. Briedis was fighting in spurts by the end. Not sure I'd consider it a FOTY contender personally unless there aren't many great fights between now and Dec 31st.

Excellent fight and there was hardly any clinching either. Usyk the deserved winner.

 

Directv showed a lot of these fights, but apparently didn't agree to show all of them. I would have made a point to watch this one without knowing the winner, but there wasn't any USA tv that I know of. Maybe TyC showed it?

Dorticos vs gassiev on now

 

This should be explosive

 

yeah, should be a fun fight

 

Dorticos looks good so far, but you have the feeling he won't be able to keep this up

 

After two, Dorcticos controlling it but burning a lot of energy. When Gassiev hits he lands

 

Gassiev has a nice left upper cut. But I think he got outworked in that round

 

Gassiev isn't flashy but he blocks well. Dorticos is quick but loops a bit with his punches. Still, the Cuban works more

 

Dorticos jab is the difference so farm but Gassiev is starting to find a spot with his right hook

 

Gassiev seems a bit discouraged

 

To me Dorticos more so, if someone. Gassiev looks like he knows what he is doing

Might be a fight that looks different to the ringside and TV. Dorticos is more active and probably hits harder but doesn't seem to get through much. Gassiev lands the telling blows

Good action in that round. Both guys are running on fume, but gassiev seems to have a bit more left

 

Seems like Gassiev's professional skill is prevailing over Dorticos' superb physical talent.

Not quite the shootout expected but very good nevertheless

 

Gassiv is a weird one. Looks like shit most of the time, but then he throws a beaty of a combo (like the one he hurt Dorticos with)
