Thomas Nast founded D.C. Comics in 1876 with a character he called "White Irish Immigrant N!gger Catholic Fuck"

  2. They should have stuck to the comic!!!!

Time magazine gave it this week's cover. However the biased liberal fucktard that wrote the article turned it into an anti-Trump PC rant...none of that crap is in the movie, I am sure!

Any publication capable of repeatedly enraging Donald Trump is one we should pay at least some attention to. SEE ALSO: It's unanimous! Critics love 'Black Panther' The latest cover of TIME magazine has struck a chord. It features Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman. Accompanying the cover is a piece by journalist Jamil Smith. Smith's article highlights the cultural significance of the film. He traces the history of the Black Panther comics, which first appeared in the civil rights era (1966 specifically), all the way up to the character's inclusion in the MCU, and what this means for black representation in media.

  6. Panchy you don't even like that movie - stop posting stuff about it!!!

  7. Truth is we need more positive black representation in film and media.

Idiots like spike lee only want to create films about black riots and poverty.

    Agreed.
Black people form an integral part of American society for hundreds of years and helped build the country. Black people deserve more positive movies.

Racists are at it again. Look at this poster.

Now I hope the Black Panther becomes a huge success, despite my hate for Marvel. I am watching this movie in a cinema.

There will always be racists. Disney making billions and you contributing to that will not dissuade racism at all.

  12. 98% after 150 reviews. not too shabby

it's getting very average audience reviews on imdb. Seems like a typical superhero/comic book movie, mostly style with very little substance.

  17. Which is exactly what it is when you strip away it's flimsy 'race' message.

People are a litle bit tired of Superhero movies. We want to see something new. Most of these superhero movies are very similar to eachother. Especially the Marvel movies.

  19. Of the top 10 grossing movies of 2017, six of them were super-hero movies.

People still go to the cinema's for these movies but their ratings are going down. They have high expectations but get disappointed.

  21. Probably.
But then, audiences are now locked-in to the whole cross-pollination of Marvel Movies, they want to see where the story is going next and how it connects with everything.
    Good marketing ploy, though.

Comic books are one-note drivel ... only the costumes change ... so it's not surprising films based on them are largely smoke and mirrors

These studios do anything to make people "feel" like they are a part of something special, and it works. People rushed to see Wonder Woman because "it's the first female superhero movie" now Black Panther because it's "African" in nature. Yet, they laugh all the way to the bank and continue their sexist and racist ways behind the scenes.

Honestly, I think that the Black Panther cast is a waste because strong actors like Michael B Jordan, Lupita N'Yongo and Danai Guerra could carry their own fucking movies.

  24. Just watched it. Very good.

  26. 'Very good'

Translation: "Errrr...nowhere near as good as I thought or the critics are saying but I'm not smart enough to critique a movie so I'll take the easy way out"

  27. Very good means very good. I don’t have the time at the moment to write a full review.

I am also shit at writing reviews.

  29. Good cast and well acted. Mostarda should like it as it has themes reminiscent of James Bond films.

Film starts with a cool origin story and that sets the tone. There are a couple neat surprises in the story. Good villain. Action and fighting scenes are well done. Many strong characters and good development showing various changes of allegiance which are believable given the circumstances and the revelations. Tight film....I was constantly engaged and was sad when it ended.

  30. Like Live And Let Die ?
    Excellent!!
Unfortunately I've been forced to go and watch the latest '50 Shades' movie tomorrow - the missus has gotten into it bigtme. ...
