    Big round for ramirez

I think it's close to even now but imam probably needs a ko to win, realistically

I'd love to see Ramirez vs Prograis, but I can't envision Bob letting Ramirez take that fight.

    Yeah, shutout was bullshit.

Ramirez 9-3 is pretty realistic though.

Imam has talent - sharp jab, good handspeed, good right hand. But definitely lacks the durability to ever be a top fighter.

    Yeah, he's a good fighter.

    140 is an excellent division.

Yup. Lazy ass had a promising career and tossed it away for being a lazy party animal before even arriving.

Verdejo got hurt in the 5th round and never recovered or seemingly even tried to after that. He only back pedalled and threw the odd hard shot hoping praying that would end it. His opponent wasn't cooperating and Verdejo wasn't prepared for that. Lozada wasn't particularly impressive, he simply showed up to fight.

Verdejo just isn't good enough to be elite. Plus he doesn't seem to hbe the hunger and desire to make it in this sport. He's finished.

Yeah, Ramirez definitely has a tough chin.

But Prograis, unlike Imam, punishes the body.

Forget lazy, he just doesn't seem good. He fooled us, because his power looked impressive against the first 15 or so buns he fought. But once guys started handling he shots, he ran out of ideas quickly.

I knew he'd never be Trinidad. And I knew Cotto was a long shot. But shit, I thought he'd at least be better than JuanMa. He can't even carry JuanMa's jock.

Agreed. This is not down to work ethic alone. He just didn't seem to have the makeup of a fighter. Gym work and staying home Friday nights can't change that.

Yup. He might as well just retire now. And I'm not exaggerating. I'm sure he and his team didn't turn pro with the expectations of being nothing more than a stepping stone, but that's all he'll ever be. Even in this watered down era of a million belts, he doesn't seem good enough to win a title.

If he continues on, he'll be nothing more than a name for prospects to pad their records with.

Forget boxing, Lomachenko can probably dance and speak better Spanish than Verdejo.

Well he suffered from inactivity even after the year off he took from the motorcycle accident. Last year he fought just once and looked rusty as hell. Last night he looked even worst than last year and that is already bad. He did had the tools to make a statement in his division, but his lack of commitment cost him. Big time.

Funny thing is, Lomachenko himself spoke very highly of Verdejo and called him one of his TOUGHEST opponents.

But commitment/discipline issues aside, if he was the goods he should have been a champion by now.

    Verdejo is shit.

I wasn't expecting to see the second coming of Wilfredo Gomez out of him, but damn... he really is a bust.

Maybe feed him to Lopez. I can't see Verdejo lasting longer than 4 against Lopez.

They should. It would be an easy matchup to promote. The fight would probably be entertaining for as long as it lasts, and if it's not totally one sided Verdejo would still be able to secure spots on big cards.

Based on how Verdejo looked on Sat... it WOULD be totally one sided.

His talent was suppose to be power - and he cant even punch.

Oh, it probably would be. I was giving a best case scenario for Verdejo.

It still would be a good fight to be made I think in my mind. Like I previously posted it would be very easy to promote. I don't see a long term goal for Verdejo. He appears to have been exposed. It's not as if he'll make millions but if he's going to "cash out" it's better to lose to an upcoming star than somebody anonymous. On the Lopez side he would at least get to have "name" (lol) on his resume.
