I'd go with The Grey. The Revenant was one of the biggest letdowns ever. I really had the false hope that it would be a masterpiece... it wasn't "bad".... but I have no urge to ever watch it again. The Grey on the other hand was the best movie Liam Neeson movie of recent years. 5 light years better than that piece of shit Taken franchise.
The Grey because The Revenant was just a glorified remake of 'Man in The Wilderness' and I loved that film more. At least the Grey was original.
Thanks. Had never seen or even heard of Man in the Wilderness, but I just read the synopsis. Sounds like a blatant rip-off on the part of The Revenant. And the academy got it totally wrong giving Leo Best Actor, when his performance in The Revenant was nothing special. Tom Hardy stole the show. Leo did deserve Best Actor for Wolf of Wall Street, but the academy ALWAYS gets it wrong.
I just can't take DiCaprio seriously as a ferocious survivor... he still has the face of a 15 year old ... it's one of the reasons I've never warmed to him as an actor... he always looks like a boy in the clothes of a man On top of that, the movie was boring... I never made it past about 2/3 of the way because you'd have to be retarded not to see the conclusion coming miles away And you'll all hem and haw about this as always but the complete disregard for historical accuracy again infuriated me as it always does in these films
The Quick and The Dead is the classic case of a not-so-good movie that's fun to watch. It'd be complete shit w/o Hackman, but his performance makes it a compelling movie.
I agree, The Revenant wasn't that great. I think DiCaprio got the Oscar after sleeping inside the dead horse and the Academy said "just give him the fucking thing, he's clearly willing to do ANYTHING to get one".
LOL exactly Meanwhile an infuriated Mark Hamill sat there remembering the time he did the same thing with a tauntaun
