Nah, Broner certainly isn't in that company for me. I did kinda hate him at one point, but at this point he's not even worth anyone's energy enough to hate, he's kind of a joke.

I'm totally objective with him. Like I said, his only impressive win is DeMarco 6 years ago at 135. WTF has he done at 140+ other than get slapped about by Maidana, Porter and Garcia? Who has he beaten?

He simply has done nothing to be talked about as a top welter, nothing at all.

Vargas beat the crap out of "Sadam" who is a current titleholder at 154, he should be a heavy, heavy favourite to win.

 

Yeah, I was gonna say.... there's a pretty big difference between lacking objectivity when it comes to actual quality fighters like Hamed, Tito, and Tszyu.... and then there's Broner....

Nothing Mex said is really incorrect. Except, to Broner's credit, he DID look impressive against Allakherdiev... much moreso than Jesse did.... but that was three years ago. You can argue that AB has regressed since then, while Vargas has gained more experience and improved.

I think it's going overboard to say that Vargas should be a "heavy heavy" favorite. He's not an elite fighter... but he should be the favorite, and he is.

I think Vargas will take control starting in the mid rounds, and AB will do what he ALWAYS does in those situations... go into survival mode.

That's fair enough. I mean yeah don't me wrong, I've never considered Vargas an elite fighter, and you're right he has lost to the best guys he's faced just like Broner. But the difference is, Bradley and Pacquiao are better than anyone Broner has faced.

And he's also proven more at 147 even with just that one win against Sadam. While I agree Sadam aint great at all, it by far trumps what Broner has done at 147. I mean, do you realise that other than getting thumped by both Maidana and Porter, all he's done at 147 is win 2 split decisions over Adrian Granados and Paulie fucking Maginaggi? He's absolutely horrible at 147.

I mean, like Xplosive said perhaps I went overboard by saying Vargas should be a heavy heavy favourite, as he's not exactly a beast himself, and he's not levels above Broner but he is a clear level above IMO, and should be more of a clear favourite than he is.

Having fought Mikey Garcia in his previous fight, this could be ideal facing Vargas next. Vargas isn't on the same level as Garcia, in terms of intelligence, ring generalship and skill, but Broner showed his toughness and got some good licks in. Plus, he went the distance. You would think that having fought one of the best fighters currently around, Broner will have learnt a fair bit to take in to his next fight and if he is as pissed as he seems, having lost so often and not getting the credit he thinks he deserves, he might just put in a good showing this weekend and shut his doubters up...a little.
To me though, he still comes across as the clown he always has been and I just cant take him seriously. He's running out of time and options so it really is now to do something about it. This is a winnable fight for him but he's going to have to meet fire with fire and make Vargas pay for any mistakes he makes, because Vargas will make mistakes. This is an interesting matchup.

 

I can't bring myself to dislike Davis, I almost feel sorry for him, for being such a tard.

I get the impression he's not a bad guy, just really fucking stupid, and a bit too ghetto for his own good.

 

I know that Davis is slow in the head, but is he on something in this vid? Seems like he's high on coke.
