I was about to post the same thing. I have to say I was impressed by the tiny little African fella, Dogbone. He simply overwhelmed Magdaleno, it was a spirited effort. Magdaleno had no answer for the sheer ferocity and energy of Dogbone.
Agree. Impressive also because it was clear Magdaleno was hurting Dogboe with his shots, but the guy just kept coming. For a little while, it reminded me of Sanchez/Nelson.
Surprised Magdelano was able to stay in the fight for as long as he did because the shot that caused the first knockdown was a monster. Dogboe's bodywork was a thing of beauty.
I think Magdaleno is a solid, quality fighter. Haven't seen this fight, yet, but I probably will. How good is Dogboe?
He's raw. And starting off, he was getting countered badly (magdaleno knocked him down). However, through a combination of adjustments and determination (including a horrific body assault) he obviously turned things around. I think he'd definitely beat Santa Cruz for example, and Mares. But i'm not really familiar with the current crop of 122 pounders, to be honest (unfortunately).
I got to watch a lot of this fight today. I'm not sold on Dogboe too much. His footwork is horrible and he seems blocky and doesn't move his head fluidly. On the other hand, tons of stamina, excellent body work, seems pretty strong, very determined. I would pick prime Santa Cruz over him with some confidence, but I could be wrong. Magdaleno was pure class in the post-fight. It was a low blow. I'd like to see a rematch. I'll watch it without knowing the outcome.
