Well it’s either use a too humanoid robot (man in a suit), a remote controlled one or super expensive CGI.

The 1966 series Robot was a man inside a metal suit.

New trailer/feature. Why they keep hiding the fact that Parker Posey is Dr. Smith? why Don West is still being kept in the background?

LOST in space (2018) Watched the whole first season and these are my reactions: this is closer to J.J. Abrams 'LOST' than to Irwin Allen's 60's tv series. The tone of the show is definitely more serious and character driven without going full dark, like the 90's film did. But this is not the fun action-adventure the original series was. And my biggest beef is that the writers again turned the Robinson's into a dysfunctional family like in the William Hurt film. Oh, and yeah, this is definitely a SJW PC wet dream: the main strong wise leading character here is Maureen Robinson (played by 'Deadwood' Molly Parker), who unlike the at home housewife June Lockhart played in the original series, is now the brilliant scientist with all the answers; Toby Stephens (Black Sails) plays the flawed, guilt-ridden, absent parent, soyboy in need of a female to lead him ex-military man (wonder how he made it there without a female to tell him what to do). This is not the John Robinson my generation admired as a heroic father-figure...this is the divorced weekend court-ordered dad you hated to be dragged to. Judy Robinson (Taylor Russell) is the second leading character being also a genius doctor regardless her age. This season still hasn't explained how come the Caucasians Robinson have an African-American eldest daughter. Makes no sense. You have to assume she was adopted? Doctor Smith (Parker Posey) is a cold-blooded homicidal maniac for no reason who is impersonating the real Dr. Smith (cameo by Billy Mumy), Penny (Mina Sundwall) is the token dumb white girl that makes all the mistakes to be blamed for (take THAT white privilege!), Will (Maxwell Jenkins) is too attached to the Robot since day one. That said, he is the more likable character here. Don West (Ignacio Serrichio) is an arrogant dickhead male chauvinist asshole with zero redeeming qualities.

This LOST in space is crowded with other mostly racially diverse characters where only the Jupiter 2 crew are practically the sole Caucasians...cause you know we already got enough of those and the few ones in the background are there to die like the redshirts in Star Trek. All these LOST colonists stranded in a deserted islan...planet, planet! provide the Robinsons the conflict they need for this season. Complaints aside, this is a gorgeous looking series where the big budget is evident on every set, gadgets, vehicles and special effects. I hope they get back to SPACE where they spend only two minutes in the first episode. In the meanwhile I'll wait for the Smoke Monster and The Others to have a cameo in season 2...and I hope they change that 'Star Trek: Enterprise' rip-off opening credits. 5/10

I got about an episode and a half in, fell asleep and LOST interest.

Still on my "Continue Watching For Nobleart" Netflix list. Will probably be there forever.

I hear you. I didn't binge watched this. Took me a few weeks. Felt like a chore that I had to complete before I did a review.

I agree with panchy. I only liked the first and the last episode. Season 2 seems promising though.
