Shane Mosley vs. Mikey Garcia

Mosley wipes his ass with Mikey at 135. I cant think of a worse matchup for Garcia. He doesn't last the distance.

Mosley was just a different class of fighter than Mikey, despite all the recent dick riding Mikey has received

 

Mosley of course. Mikey is not even a true lightweight. He’s more of a junior light weight to my eyes.

Mosley was a true phenom at lightweight. Not the highest boxing iq but amazing physical gifts that Mikey simply does possess.

Mosley by early to mid rounds KO.

 

Mosley probab ly wins due to the size/strength advamtage. But different class of fighter? Hardly.

 

Mosley was 100% a different class of fighter than Garcia.

I actually like Mikey. I mean, how can you not? He's very skilled, has never said a disparaging word about an opponent, and he's offensive minded. However, he's becoming overrated. Very overrated in some cases.

Whereas Shane has become underrated, because he's been shot for soooooo long, and because he never really reached the same level after losing to Forrest... and he gained a lot of detractors after that loss as a result of being OVERRATED pre-Forrest.

From 98-01, Shane was on a level that Mikey's not currently on, and never will be on.

I think lightweight Mosley stops BOTH Mikey and Loma.

If that featherfisted bum Linares is dropping Loma, then I have little confidence in his chin holding up to lightweight Shane's firepower all night.

 

Loma is far more skilled than Mosley. If Shane wins it's because of size alone. The guy was a fucking gigantic lightweight.

 

Garcia has a good shot if he can sting and stun Mosley enough to control the pace and keep him in front of him but Mosley was a fucking huge light weight. Mosley never fight anyone on Garcia’s level at lw tho so maybe melting down to the weight shows up in a tough fight.

 

The height of Shane’s career doesn’t really have that many great wins outside of DLH. Mosley’s never really been consistent against A level opposition. But I’d agree his size gives him a big advantage against Garcia at any weight the fight at.

 

Garcia couldn't even hurt Broner.

Considering Shane took Oscar's left hook extremely well, I can't see Mikey's hook bothering him much.

 

When will you guys admit that Mikey's comp hasn't been the most stellar? That's what's astounding about how highly he's regarded... his comp has been shit.

There is not ONE guy on Garcia's resume that Mosley wouldn't have obliterated.

Mikey didn't exactly set the world on fire against Easter, Broner, and Lipinets. Yes, he won all three fights convincingly... but even a staunch Mosley hater would have to admit, Mosley would have destroyed all three of those guys, and he woulda looked like Ray Robinson in doing so.

 

Again. I'm not arguing that Mikey wins. I'm arguing that Mosley is not in a different class. Garcia's career is obviously not over. So there's no determining at this stage who is better (unfair to both fighters to attempt). However, there's no reason I can see to conclude they are different classes of fighters.

 

No way Garcia is strong enough to handle Mosley, just think he's simply outgunned

 

Perhaps my opinion of Mikey just isn't as high as some.

But more than that, I think Shane's prime has become underrated.... only natural because when he was actually IN his prime he was overrated.

Ya know, the Dems that post on here, probably funded by Crooked Hillary, are very unfair to my good friend Double L. Ya know, I've been reading this forum for many years and I think that Doub does a tremendous job and doesn't get enough credit, unlike Cdogg and the rest of the Fake News Fightbeaters. It's WRONG!

I was even nice enough to let Panchy accompany me to a speech I made at an elementary school last week. I think Shane’s extreme high marks in foot and hand speed and durability, as well as his aggression would play huge factors in a win against Loma.

Also let’s not forget that as much of a defensive guru that Loma was, Shane was a big time body puncher at LW, and there’s this rumor that the body don’t move.

Lastly I wouldn’t say Shane was fucking gigantic at LW. He had good size and made 147 easily but if you go back and look at his LW fights he wasn’t coming in as a super blown up LW. He was real skinny and wasn’t much bigger than most of his opposition back then. He had to be killing himself to make that weight.

 

Shane would have beat the shit outta Loma at 135.

You didn’t get so down on Garcia and start calling him overrated until he called out your boy Spence.

Garcia has fought really good opposition. He’s just the favorite and he makes them look like underdogs. He’s a more accomplished fighter at these weights than Shane was, but I’d agree Mosley was probably just too big.

 

Mosley was huge a lw. I remember he called out Floyd after the Corrales fight and even Mosley fans were like “Don’t do it Floyd! Save yourself, the guys huge!”
