Ironic that we discussed drawn out sci-fi's earlier with 2049, because last night I finally watched 80s classic Brazil. Smart, well made, very witty satire film... but it very much would have benefited from being shorter, as some parts were just drawn out and unnecessary. And yes, it's a very weird movie but I expected that going in. Made by Terry Gilliam, who also made 12 Monkeys.... I think 12 Monkeys is the better movie of the two.
You don't want to see the short version of "Brazil". It's like the short version of "Once Upon A Time In America". Just becomes an incoherent mess.
