I always tend to overrate Joppy. He looked better than he really was. Still Saunders is nothing special either. I'd pick Joppy in a close one
I think it’s competitive either way. Neither guy is on that different a level from the other. Pre-Trinidad version of Joppy in all likelihood beats everyone Saunders fought as well, and maybe in even better fashion. It’s a close one, but I think I lean towards Joppy.

Saunders is very unproven. Joppy would have beaten Lemiux as well. Lets see what Billy Ho is made of when he gets in there with Andrade.
Joppy May have beaten Lemieux but he would have had a much harder time of it than Saunders had. I can’t see how Joppy could have beaten Saunders
I might take Joppy by virtue of being a braver, bolder, better fighter than Willie Munroe. If his opponent can jab with him Saunders looks ordinary and vulnerable to being outworked. Joppy had a decent jab and a high work rate.
