Striking thing about Canelo is, if he cuts loose with a combination or two, even early on, he gets tired and needs to take time off. So unless he eases up on his power and doesn't throw as hard, I don't see him winning through increased activity. I just think he loses anything even approaching a battle of attrition. So I won't be surprised if he spurt fights again but with a few more sneaky moves than last time to try to really hurt GGG.

Golovkin will get a stoppage in this 2nd fight.

Canelo is one of the worst boxers I've ever seen when it comes to fighting an opponent with pressure, power and someone who can actually fight/punch.

Golovkin will go all-out for a stoppage and it'll come in Rd10.

Hang on, hang on...............the fact that he was able to negotiate the distance and make GGG miss suggests that he's not all that bad under pressure.

Body shots will slow GGG down in this rematch.

Agreed. But against a very un-Golovkin-type performance by Golovkin (who, btw, I've never rated as highly as people do)

Canelo Successfully DEFENDED Himself, but He Couldn't Sustain Enough of a Punch Output to WIN...His Work Rate was Faaaaaaaaaaaaaar Toooooooooooo INCONSISTENT to Score the Last Fight in His Favor...

You're Right that Canelo's Definitely NO Slouch Though...REED's Said as Much for Years...

But That 1 Tragic Flaw of His Doesn't Match Up Well vs. Triple G...

I expect an almost identical fight to the first. GGG won that one but he wasn't very impressive to my eye - his pressure was largely inaccurate and Canelo didn't each many flush shots at all. I actually thought initially that Canelo might sneak a rematch, but without his stamina juice it's hard to see how he can.

    GGG pts (close).

The key to an easy Golov victory is the jab. The limited juicer will be at his mercy if he establishes control of the jab early.

    I see a similar fight.

Golovkin’s jab and control of distance will once again play the deciding factors. Canelo will probably try to be more aggressive but once he takes a couple of flush right hands, he’ll revert to running away from Triple G.

Will the judges get it right? I’m guessing they do this time.

GGG didn’t win that fight....Canelo didn’t either. Draw was a fair result. Canelo didn’t run, he fought the way he always fights; stay mobile and pick his shots. GGG threw more punches and landing more jabs but I can’t remember him landing any really hard punches. Canelo was the only one landing hard eye catching flush shots.

I watched it again yesterday and I just can’t see an argument for Canelo winning more than 3 rounds. 4 is generous and anything more is stretching.

Golovkin is simply the better fighter. And if the judges aren’t on the take, he should get a clear, deserved win.

GGG definitely won 7 rounds minimum. Canelo didn't let his hands go enough to win more than 2 rounds through rounds 1-9. I thought he won rounds 10-12. Canelo started letting his hands go too late.

Rewatched a few Canelo fight. He's simply not that good of a fighter. While I think GGG is overated as fuck, he should beat him rather clearly this time around

I agree that Canelo isn’t great, but he’s good. Great balance and a versatile attack. Solid chin too.

Seriously though, does anyone not want to see Golovkin administer a twilight-of-his-career, hospitalizationesque beating to a cheating, De le Frauda, Ginger-haired-wtf-Mexican-Ive-done-nothing-at-160lb arsehole??

Canelo's a Very Good OFFENSIVE Fighter...

Accurate, Mixes and Picks his Shots Well, Bangs the Head and Body, Even Handed Puncher...He's Improved his Head Movement as Well...

The Problem w/Canelo is he Can't SUSTAIN His Strengths...Sooooooon as he Fires Off a Meaty Combo, He Needs a Respite...

I'll go with GGG simply because a Canelo win means no 3rd match.

Truth be told, I don't particularly care for the rematch. The first fight wasn't great to watch. It was an unimpressive win for GGG in my book. The controversy re: the decision is the only point of interest.

I couldn't care less about either guy. Would be hilarious if it was another draw or a ND due to a cut.

Add to the fact he has aligator arms and has to be close to get those shots off then on his bike to get out of distance...for a stamina challenged fighter that's a bad combo.

Canelo fought a lot like Freitas fought against Corrales. The difference being Corrales kept up the pressure and kept coming at him.

This is a tough fight to call IMO. I’m going back and forth on this. Now I’m thinking that GGG gets a late stoppage. Previously I thought Canelo would hurt him bad to the body and have GGG weakened to the point where the head punches begin to take their toll. What I’m sure of though is that it’ll be a better and more dramatic fight than the first one

If the equine picks Golov then Canelo will dominate.
