Golovkin won both fights, but I'll concede that at least Canelo has an argument for winning the rematch.

The first fight was a clear as fucking day Golov win

I felt Golovkin won both fights. But I was probably swayed by the commentators who couldn't take a breath during the fights and were riding Golovkin's jock throughout.

Since this thread is for discussing the fight, I'd like to just say, GGG clearly won the first fight. And although you could argue the second fight was close and therefore not a robbery, it shows a pattern of giving Canelo all benefits of the doubt, and really, holding GGG to a higher standard for victory.

Through two fights it’s tough to separate these guys and they’ve together proven why this matchup was so hyped in the first place. They proved the point that each had equal claim to being the Middleweight champion: GGG had the belts and Canelo had the Lineal/Ring title.

yeah, What bothers me about Canelo, is that while his closest wins aren't necessarly robberies, he always get the fucking benefit of the doubt

I had Canelo winning a close fight.

What's not surprising and expected are the GGG fanboys reaction as if it was a robbery. It wasn't.

I saw where Teddy Atlas had it 117-112 or something ridiculous. If your card began 117 for EITHER guy, you're on the short bus with Adelaide Byrd who had it 118-110 for Canelo in the original fight.

It was a good fight and should be appreciated for what it was. Stop making "controversies" out of nothing.

Ya'll Musta Forgot the "Triple Cute" Days...

When Golovkin Was Wiping his Ass w/the Dominic Wade's and Willie Monroe's of the World, When he Couldn't Be Bothered to Move His Head, "Allowing" Opponents Like Kell Brook to Punch Him in the Face, GGG was as POPULAR as Any Fighter On This Site...

For @ Least the Last 5 Years or So...

During That Same Timeframe, Canelo Has Probably Been THE Most Unpopular Fighter on this Site, This Side of Floyd...

Canelo was unpopular mainly because he lost to Floyd methinks. Also his association with De La Hoya didn’t help matters as well as the fact that he’s a red head with freckles (fight fans seem to like their Mexicans to be dark, greasy and wide of nose) He’s been hated for made up or superficial reasons.

He was labelled as “Can Yellow” ( sounds like an Xplosive creation) because he took a while to make the GGG fight, and then called a cowardly runner on fat ginger legs because he moved a lot in the first GGG fight, then called Clenelo Alltheroids because of that drug scandal and now that he’s fought GGG twice and drug free, and won without running, people need to dream up some other way to hate on him so people are saying he would have been butchered by Hagler, Pavlik and Vargas blah blah blah.

    Haters gonna hate

Nah, it’s very simple. Canelo is like the spoiled rich kid who always seems to get his way because his in the closet, cross dresser daddy has deep pockets.

The dude fought Lara and Trout and Mayweather and Cotto and GGG. That’s not the actions of a spoiled rich kid that is protected by daddy

Fine but even if that were true, still there’s no need to hate on Canelo as a result.

So basically unless you scored this for Canelo, you're a "hater" and your scorecard is dishonest? C'mon, REED

REED Isn't Saying that @ All McDogg...

But the MAJORITY of Those Who Picked GGG In This Thread Have Shown the Very Same Biases REED Spoke of, In FAVOR Of Golovkin Over the Last 5+ Years...

There's Never Been a Dull Moment w/Dude, from the Time HBO Introduced Him to American Audiences, So the Level of Fandom (Coupled w/the KO %) is Warranted...REED GETS It....

But Some of Those Claiming GGG Won Last Saturday are Clinging to Their Biases Either FOR Him or AGAINST Canelo...Or Both...

Yep, it's Not 1 Particular Thing that Negatively Resonates w/Canelo Haters, it's ALL of It...

w/Out LOOKING Like the Stereotypical Mexican, Canelo's Reaping ALL the Benefits and More...He's the NEW "Golden Boy", w/Teen Aged Girls Screaming and Feinting @ his Mere Presence...

The Good Looking, Measured, Well Packaged Prizefighter...EASY as Hell to Hate That...

Then There's the Shaky Decisions, Delaying the Triple G Fight for Years (While Saying "I'm Mexican, We Don't Fuck Around"), the Draw, Clenbuterol, Coming in @ 180+ While Demanding Catchweights Simultaneously...

And Then, Just When it Seemed Canelo was FINALLY Gonna Get his Comeuppance, FINALLY Take that "L" to Satisfy His Haters, the Motherfucker DARED to Put Forth the Best Performance of his Career...

Canelo gets a disproportionate amount of hate, but he deserves some of it cause of the way he always get the nod in close fight. Still, let's not pretend he's some great fighter either. He's not as bad as some either claim he is (cough explosive), but he's still a guy who barely scrapped by Lara, Trout and (to a lesser extent) an old small Cotto, and was humiliated by an aging LW

Golovkin doesn't have any groupies on this forum, REED. Never really did.

Name ONE hardcore Triple G fan on here.

You and Muzse detest Golovkin more than anybody on this forum likes him.

Golovkin has a shitload of delusional fans on Eastside's forum, but not really here.

I don't believe this. I don't have an issue with those who felt GGG won a close fight. What's at issue is referring to the decision as a "robbery" or thinking GGG won 8 or 9 rounds. That is ridiculous.

Referencing the first fight as a robbery...no argument from me especially with that one ridiculous scorecard. This fight was not that. 7-5 x2 and 6-6 on the judges scorecards indicates it was a close fight.
