not much difference in weight but enormous gulf in height and reach.

Frazier an all time great, Deontay looks to be a bum with concussive power.

    What happens?

Wilder wouldn’t be silly enough to sit in the pocket with Frazier and go to war with him. He wouldn’t give up his height and reach like that and it’s not his style anyway.

Instead he’s do his usual erratic spastic movement stick his long left hand in joes face and attempt to catch him with the massive right hand.

Joe will successfully bob and weave away from the jab and the right hand and will nail wilder to the body and drop him with a left hook. However wilder in desperation will create some space for himself stick the long keft in joes face and throw a Hail Mary right hand flush on the button.

“Down goes Frazier...down goes Frazier!!”. Wilder, ever the opportunist won’t waste this chance and will proceed to fuck him up. Wilder KO 7

Wilder looked like crap dealing with the bobbing and weaving of bum ass Spillzka. Frazier mauls him.

I saw it this morning. It doesn't even dignify a response. He continues to regress as a poster.

    Wilder is 225-230 though?

    Prime Frazier was 210 tops...

Wilder doesn’t properly utilize his height and he’s quite hittable . He has no chance.

Wilder has a puncher's chance, but to favor him speaks to the ideology of an idiot.

Sly has NEVER favored Frazier in any MM. Never.

When it comes to Frazier and Tommy Hearns, this dipshit believes any Joe Blow with two hands could KO either one.

68-71 Frazier would wreck the Alabama windmill.

I think Wilder’s power has become overrated too. Particularly after the stoppage of Ortiz.

No chance he blows out Frazier.

Frazier was tiny by today’s standards...not just in terms of weight but also in terms of height. In the ring they’ll look like David and Goliath. Fuck nostalgia, let’s be realistic. Wilder is crap when it comes to conventional boxing skills...everyone knows this and I know this...however that jet black heavily tattooed Alabama motherfucker can CRACK!!! If nothing else he can crack and he carries that power late and it’s delivered from range and with speed. He’s also rather unpredictable as he has one of those ugly but innovative styles of fighting. Bonavena dropped Frazier twice before Foreman wipes him out so don’t fucking pretend hat wilder doesn’t have the power or the delivery system to nail smoking joe on the chin and drop him hard. Not sure wilder could have taken Frazier’s punch either of course or deal with his work rate or bobbing and weaving but Frazier was a short man compared with wilder and with much shorter arms and was a notorious slow starter so in terms of physics and probability it is very likely that wilder nails him at some point in the fight and when wilder nails a man anything is possible.

The difference in skill, schooling, craft is about 5 times that of the weight and height difference

This fucking video game overhand windmill punching basketball player might buzz Joe with a shot early but gets fucking schooled and beat up by a guy he can barely tag clean who has no problem landing on him

I like how Sly tries to pretend he's not ludicrously biased against Frazier with "Joe Frazier, an all time great..."

LOL, an all time great Sly has never picked to win a fight

Joe Frazier has always been THE MOST disrespected great on Fightbeat, not just by Sly. Most posters here act like the guy was some harmless, midget bum who gets knocked out by any heavyweight in history.

People also act like he was totally incapable of beating a large heavyweight when he absolutely obliterated 240 pound Buster Mathis, after physically manhandling Mathis all night.

Put it this way - every poster on here would laugh their fucking ass off if somebody suggested Wilder beating the 71 Ali.

Yet somehow, it's a given that Wilder beats the man who thoroughly beat up the 71 Ali. But they say "Oh, styles! Look what Foreman did..."

DEONTAY WILDER IS NOT GEORGE FUCKING FOREMAN! NOT EVEN CLOSE!

The underrating of Joe Frazier on this forum must end. He woulda beaten the shit outta Wilder AND Joshua. Both very ordinary, and flawed palookas.

Frazier gets no respect here at all... over time he's been gradually diminished to the point where he's treated like he's just Ken Norton version 1.0

    Guy was great

He couldn’t stop Bonavena in two tries but somehow he’s going to stop massive guys like Wilder and Joshua? Please.

Frazier’s entire reputation is based on the first Ali fight which was against a diminished Ali in only his third fight back from a 3 year layoff.

After that who did he beat? Ellis and Foster? Please.

Great fighter, yes, because of his three legendary fights and rivalry with past prime Ali. But outside of Ali he didn’t do shiiiiiiiiiiiiiit.

But...but...Frazier gave Ali tons of trouble and was his great rival, so obviously to certain boxing fans who love Ali and won't have a bad word said about him, Frazier is downgraded.

Iran Barkley beat Hearns TWICE but only a madman would put Barkley on the same level as Hearns because of that and suggest that he’d have beaten Hopkins or GGG. Some guys just give others hell because of their style...not because they’re in the same class.

Yeah, and so both Wilder and Joshua would be taken to hell...slowly...and also because theyre not in the same class as....'Smokin' Joe Frazier!!

Bonavena was so chinny and easy to hurt, too! And also he threw his punches like a catapult being launched, wasted energy every second, had never seen a guy with great head movement before and couldn't fight on the inside... he's like a carbon copy of Wilder and Joshua, only smaller

What a great astute boxing point!

Now we're comparing Joe Frazier to Iran Barkley?

    This guy is a caricature.

Sly's boxing comparisons arent trolling either: he makes similar comments with music, movies: "Avatar is a better piece of movie-making than Chinatown or Network because it grossed 50x more than either"..." 'Legend: The Best of Bob Marley & The Wailers' is better than 'Marcus Garvey' by Burning Spear for the same reason", etc, etc

He fails to see Frazier turned the fastest 220lb boxer known to man into a punching-bag and turned his jaw into a fuckin' melon...fails to see that Foreman fought on sheer adrenalin in '73 when he couldnt keep Frazier down after 6 double-the-power-of-Joshua's-punches...fails to see how rock-chinned Chuvalo didnt see the 5th-rd after being pummelled like a hoe who's late with that weeks' takings...

Frazier v Joshua would be a slower, more horiffic version of Tyson v Savarese...

Wilder is like today's Alex Stewart but because heavyweight boxing is so shit these days, and because he has the WBC belt, he's given this "but-his-insane-power-(newsflash: it isn't)-would-trouble-heavies-from-yesteryear" status.

This....is how fuckin fearsome Deontay Wilder is:

    Full-on after 130lb Zelenoff who's never boxed.

Can you image this putrid maggot turning up at the Broad St Gym in Phile.?
Yank Durham would just dump his body in a garbage-can.

Lots of butt hurt Frazier fans in this thread. Lol.

That tiny one armed bandit was exciting but he’s get fucked up by any new millennium big men with power and a modicum of resilience. The only big names of the 70s and 60s that he fought both beat him twice. Motherfucker didn’t even fight Cooney or Young let alone Shavers, Lyle, Norton, Holmes, Liston.

Anthony Joshua wouldn’t even have to box him...he’d just bop the small man on the top of his head and watch him crumble.

Holmes didn't have a meaningful pro fight until 1977 when Joe Frazier was retired

You seem confused... Joe Frazier's prime was the late 1960s

“Smokin” joe Frazier indeed. If 70s Ali wasn’t primarily a one-two head puncher with a reduced jab and mobility, he would have done away with Frazier and we wouldn’t even be having this discussion.
