People under-estimate the importance of PBF's illegal forearm. He used it as often as he could to throw his opponents off balance, set up his punches, and create distance. It is an absolutely critical element of his game and without it, he's not beating the likes of Arguello, Duran et al. Against Castillo, Draculich finally took a point from pbf in the 10th round for his illegal forear.. And for the remainder of that round, in which pbf didn't use it, it was like a different fight. But despite the point deduction, the forearm/elbow is so indispensable, he went right back to it in the 11th and of course Draculich did nothing.
Mayweather wouldn't have won even one championship if it wasn't for the use of his illegal forearm. He relied heavily on that tactic., good catch.
You’re welcome. When a man has one trick that works for him like that he need not have any true boxing skills. It’s to his credit that he was able to get by on just that. Clever.
It's really all you need ... if more fighters were aware of it, they'd be undefeated This fellow really knows how to break things down
Nobody said that's all he had. But it was a key tactic of his if he planned on not moving the whole time.
Don't think it'd be necessary for him to use the forearm anyway ... he usually only did that against guys trying to crowd him and brawl ... totally not Arguello's style
Mayweather beats Alexis... his quickness and defensive acuity would drive him nuts... bad style match for Arguello He might take a few of the most vicious shots he'd ever taken but not enough to turn the fight... I think Mayweather wins an 8-4, 9-3 type of fight
Yup... I'd be jumping for joy the few times Alexis made Floyd a little uncomfortable but there's almost no chance of him winning this... horrible style match
