I'm 100% with you on this issue. I absolutely HATE this type of bullshit. LGBTQ constitute less than 5% of the population, why the fuck are people going out of their way to cater to them? LGBTQ, if they don't like Star Wars they're not going to suddenly like it because it now involves characters from their "community". I'm black, and the original films were basically all white (except for Lando) and I wasn't craving for black characters. Kathleen Kennedy is a SJW cunt.

 

I hate to side with a PCaphobe and a homophobe but it does always piss me off how sensitive the LGBTQ community is. I mean these motherfuckers can find an issue with anyone over any comments. And the fact that everyone always bends over backwards to appease them or apologize to them like they’re the mafia or something always amazes me.

SoyLo: A Star Wars Story has officially bombed miserably at the box office with a total three days estimate of $83.3 million and probably a 4th day Memorial Day holiday weekend between $102-$110 million, a far cry from Lucasfilm & industry earlier estimates of $170 million opening. we are reading A LOT of excuses online from Disney employees pointing to Star Wars fatigue, too close to the release of The Last Jedi, etc, but they totally ignored the elephant in the room: fans simply were fed up of identity politics in Star Wars and decided to boycott this film.

 

No one wanted a Han Solo prequel except Disney. They do a prequel right after killing the character off. Fucking stupid. Rogue One was shit too along with The Last Shit Eye.

‘Rogue One’ wiz good fun and Ah didnae mind ‘Solo’, although admittedly, the female droid making double entendres wiz less Clooud City and more Cringe City.

I actually think a lot of Star Wars fans wanted a Han Solo prequel or any other Star Wars film. The problem is they want it done right and it seems nobody, not even George Lucas is capable of pulling off that kind of a miracle.

It never looked as bad as the other films from the trailer. Though I refused to watch it at the theater, I will check it out when it comes to the movie channels.

 

yeh you can get a torrent now...it's a much better movie than the other stuff
i think the lack of jedis hurt the box office, but a sequel where Darth Maul has a bigger role would be a hit

 

I just watched it and I preferred it to The Last ShitEye (Copyright Joe King) and Rogue One. It was still far from great though and the guy that played Solo didn't capture his personality at all. I'd watch a sequel though and see him meet with and betray Jabba the Hutt and meet Gredo etc.

I agree. But this one is worth a sequel unlike that recent Rian Johnson abomination.

 

But as I mentioned earlier....Ehrenreich didn’t capture Han’s personality at all, and that was the main problem. Han was cocky and strong willed and funny...you didn’t get any of that in this film.

 

Han was like that when he was older...this character is young and still developing

 

Nah. Those personality traits would already be present.

 

Solo: A Star Wars Story Finally watched this film on Netflix. It took me three sporadic days to watch the whole pointless thing and this is my review: a competent failure. It is well crafted, have nice sets and acceptable special effects, but the whole thing feels like a big budget fan film. The little plot it has is just an excuse to 'explain' things about Han Solo no one was asking for, like how he got his last name, when he met Chewbacca, Lando, how he made the Kessel Run in less than 12 parsecs, winning the Falcon in a poker game (SPOILER: the last sequence of the film...totally unnecessary since everybody knows that, unless you were born five years ago and haven't watched Empire Strikes Back). So the whole thing is a 'Lets move from point A to point B to reveal a 'new fan fantasy' about things we already know about Han. And yes, the fucking SJW android is so annoying that instead of you feeling sad when it 'dies' you almost cheer this fucker is out of the way. And yes, Lando is pansexual, having feelings for that PC spewing droid. The scene where he is holding her as she dies is so cringe worthy I hope I can erase that image from my memory. The characters are utterly uninteresting and you just DON't CARE about their fates. Watching the whole thing felt more like a chore. This a forgettable film that should had never being made and deserved its box office bomb status. 4/10
