Johnson just got traded from the UFC to 1 Championship (a Singapore based promotion) for some guy named Ben Askren. It may be Dana was tired of MM crying about receiving some of that money he never brought in. He was obviously underpaid for his talent, but butts in seats and PPV dollars are what dictates your wage in this game. It’s a completely unfair system that a guy with half the talent can act like a prick and wind up making more money because of it, but that’s the way it is. Word is that Dana has been considering scraping the Flyweight division anyway to possibly start a 165 pound division that many fighters including McGregor and Nate Diaz have expressed interest in.
What's REALLY Sorry is Dana Waits Until Mighty Mouse LOSES his Title (Finally) to a Guy He KO'ed in Less than 1 Round, Then "Trades" Him (Whatever that Means) w/Out Offering Up a Condom Match at All... It Always Amuses REED How MMA Fans Pointed to the Shadiness of Boxing as a Factor in them Becoming Interested in UFC, Initially...They Felt Let Down by Boxing and MMA was the Shiny New Toy, Apparently... Decade or So Later, UFC's EVERY Bit as Shady as the LOWEST of the Lowest Boxing Promoters... REED
True. But the problem is that outside of McGregor, UFC is struggling on PPV. Even the DC vs Stipe Miocic Heavyweight Championship PPV only brought in 380k PPV buys. They just don't have the star power overall. Back then they had more stars and a lot of new fans were coming on board. Now it's like....who cares....every week there's a UFC event on television and people have moved on. Who really cares if Joe Bloggs is fighting James McBum? Product is oversaturated.
