    His fight was at mid range but he went nose to nose with the better inside fighter

    You have a point. I think the general consensus was Corrales would have been better off with more distance. But thinking about it, that may not have been true. For example, the knockdowns he suffered in that fight did not happen in close.

    I can't rebember which fight it was, but wasn't there a famous bout where a boxer was slugging the slugger ang getting beat up, yet managed to turn it around and win by ko with a few well timed punches?

    I'm not familiar enough with either Carbajal or Gonzalez to claim so, but i remeber an article stating that Carbajal (more of a boxer) was fighint Gonzalez fight (and getting beat up) before pulling out the ko win.
