Napoles of the Cokes fight vs the Duran of Montreal.

I really dunno about this one. I actually lean towards Napoles. I've never seen an offense as good as Napoles' in the first Cokes fight.

Fuck! Typing this thread quickly on my phone and forgot the O in Joey's name. Ahhh you cunts get the point!

Which begs the question: why dont we have the ability to edit thread titles? There was a point in time when we were able to do that.

As long as Dundee can manage his inevitable cuts, I'd favor Napoles by decision... it'd be a showcase for head movement from both of them, two of the best ever at it

Very close. Could see them splitting fights.

I could see Duran taking the first one, then NĂ¡poles adjusting in a rematch and coming away with the win.

I dunno about that. Both were far inferior to Alex Saucedo in the head movement department.

Duran & Napoles both produced two of the most complete virtuoso performances I've ever seen. Duran in the third DeJesus fight, and Napoles in the first Cokes fight.

I have debated this fight many times with my best boxing analyst/friend.

Duran only had 2 good fights at 147 vs. Palomino and Ray Leonard, he was out of shape in the others, and looked really bad in some of those most notably versus Zeffie Gonzales.

Cannot base a figther's career on just one night - that is where a lot of casuals screw up and blow their cover on rating Duran.

I have always liked Napoles here by points as Duran would do that pawing with his left and then jump in squared up behind haymaker rights and would not hit Napoles with that junk who would counter him up the middle.

Mantequilla Napoles on points for me

Yeah, Duran's "junk" was good enough to beat a nobody like Ray Leonard...

And that is what I stated in my first comment about him,. He looked like shit in his other fights at welterweight. Correct me where I am wrong since you think I am wrong.

Duran turned down double the money he made by beating up Jr. Welterweight Monroe Brooks who had serious health issues - anemia and died from them last year - he turned down both Wilfred Benitez and Harold Weston at MSG for far more money

Yeah he only beat Sugar Ray Leonard and gave a 10-0 asswhuppin to Carlos Palomino... outside of those minor things, the guy was shit at Welterweight!
