If anybody cares. I think this it for HBO. How fitting... they go out with a showcase fight. I think Bivol is headed to DAZN after this, so hopefully that sets up Bivol-Beterbiev.
Dish Network Ended its "Relationship" w/HBO Recently, So if Anyone Would Be Soooooo Kind, Please PM a Decent Stream... REED
This was originally suppose to be Bivol vs Joe Smith, but Smith backed out cause DAZN offered him a lot more money to fight Beterbiev than HBO was offering him for Bivol. I woulda rather it been Smith. Of course, Bivol woulda battered Smith, but at least Smith is young and a big puncher.
Bivol seemed like the goods when he destroyed Barrera, but after that he has had lackluster performances. Seems like he lost his mean spirit quickly
Its possible he fights up to the level of his comp and needs the right fighter to bring him outta 1st gear. But as of right now, Beterbiev would have to be favored over him. Shot Pascal would not see 12 with Beterbiev.
Agreed with all this. Beterbiev couldn't put away Kölling who did a survival but so far anybody who has exchanged with him even a little bit has gone down
Last year people were saying the exact opposite. That Bivol was better than Beterbiev. Have to question the methodology here.
In science, as in several other life areas, you make a hypothesis and as you gather more knowledge, you correct your opinion. We could take a stance of 'we can't know, let's wait and see' to everything and evaluate fighters only after they retire to be sure, but that doesn't sound very fun. Or, of course, we could go to Twitter and shout out whatever we like and claim it to be true, despite what the results say
Yes. And in our analysis of the data, we are careful to control for key factors and not to reject our hypotheses on the basis of random noise.
Going by Double's logic, we're still suppose to believe that Felix Verdejo will be an elite fighter, since it did look that way until he stepped up. Bivol is stepping up and looking less impressive. It's just facts. He's still a top fighter, no one is calling him a fraud, but he's not looking like a guy who's rule 175 for years to come. Could he still be that guy? Yes. But he didnt look like it last night.
Mannn Froch damn near won every round against a prime Pascal. A washed up Hopkins TWICE dominated a prime Pascal. That shit ain't impressive, that Bivol shutout a shot Pascal. We wanted to see more.
No way hopkins dominated pascal twice. In fact he was lucky to get the draw the first time around, cause a kd against him wasnt counted. Everybody rebember the latter half, but pascal was whooping bhop in the first rounds, and this is coming from someone who was rooting for nard
Caught some of the fight, Bivol looked alright to me, without looking spectacular. Don't really get the criticism if I'm honest, Pascal isn't brilliant but he's always been a tough and awkward dude.
I was intentionally exaggerating a bit. Haven't watched Froch-Pascal in many years, but from what I remember, Froch won about 9 rounds. It was Froch's best performance along with Bute.
I said "damn near" every round, smart ass. As I said, Froch from what I remember won 9-3. Shit, that is "damn near" every round.
Sad thing is, Verdejo never really “stepped up.He couldn’t even make it out of the top 50 level guys. Even Juanma was better than him. Bivol is good but maybe not quite the phenomenon we had hoped he’d become.
