Really hard to tell. Liston has much more skills, but I'd like to see how he would react to Wilder size and power. Also, I love Liston, but he had some dog in him. While Wilder has shown supreme heart and confidence so far
I was rewatching Liston-Williams 1 last night... first time I had watched that one in like 5 or so years. I had forgotten how skilled an offensive machine Liston was. I think Wilder's got a great shot if it goes late.... but I don't think it would go late. Wilder's too open, and Liston was too accurate. Liston in 4.
My feelings on Liston are that I feel he's outgunned against Lewis, Tyson, and Foreman. I think he'd be dangerous for Holy, Holmes, and Bowe. Liston vs Frazier is a crap shoot. Liston might stop Frazier within 5, but if it goes beyond that, Joe drowns him.
You mean Wilder's HEIGHT and power. He comes in weighing the same as Sonny. Thing is, it doesn't matter if Wilder were 7'4, the guy is easy to hit. Total bums have hit him a lot, and hurt him. If Eric Molina can find Wilder, I'd venture to say Liston could as well.
I'll give Wilder credit in saying that he's very physically strong. He's got that raw, country physical strength. But Liston was physically strong also, and Liston had excellent footwork/balance, unlike Wilder whose balance/footwork is horrible. I don't see Sonny having any issue whatsoever landing that legendary jab on Wilder early and often.
not all 212 persons are equal. Yeah wilder is light, but he's a huge individual. HW toney was weighting more than him, but Wilder is a much bigger person

Yeah, that made no sense whatsoever. Toney was a blown up middleweight and the ONLY reason he didn't look completely sloppy at heavyweight is cause he was juicing his ass off. Liston was built like a brick shithouse.

Terrell was a big HW, and Wilder is even biggger since he's taller and has a more developped upper body

Well you were differentiating between "big" and "tall" after you were questioned about Wilder's "size" being a factor given his very low weight for his height ... you then said not all 212 pounders are the same ... so if that's not about strength then what is it about? If Wilder's size is relevant to this matchup and you mean something other than height, how is it relevant if strength isn't involved? What else could there be if you are stating not all 212 pounders are created equal? I assumed you brought up Toney and Chagaev to illustrate that Wilder is stronger than both despite being lighter (I'd agree) ... otherwise what does "bigger" mean and what good is it if it doesn't translate to strength?
