This reminded me of the aftermath of the Mike Perez-Magomed Abdusalomov fight.

Hopefully Stevenson will recover and have some quality of life. I wasn't a fan but I hate to see anyone injured like this.

 

He had a long career and every time a fighter gets buzzed in sparring or takes a good shot in a real fight it’s damage that adds up. Plus Stevenson last few fights showed how vulnerable he was to gassing out and taking a beating. He was an “old fighter” but I guess he thought he could compensate with his power and being a little more negative.
