Right but I'm only telling you what Jon Jones himself said when he was asked about going up to heavyweight. He implied that he could have a lot of trouble if he's on the ground trying to roll with a 260 lb heavyweight like Mark Hunt on top of him. Even if Jones is weighing 230 to 240, he's still got those stick insect legs and his body frame is still an ectomorphic LH. He's still not going to have the natural density or body mass of a pure heavyweight like Francis Ngannou.

Lesnar may not pass the drug test. Then again, Jones likely won't either if he's trying to come in as a heavyweight.

DC beats Lesnar in March. DC relinquishes the heavyweight title. In July DC fights Jon for the 205 title and loses. On the same card Cain fights Stipe for the vacant title and wins. DC retires. In November at the MSG show Jon battles DC's best friend who is looking for vengeance Cain in a heavyweight title fight..... This happens in a perfect world and makes ufc shit load of money

Lesnar beats DC for the world heavyweight title and shows up on Monday Night Raw with both the WWE title and UFC title on both shoulders. The internet goes nuts.

Like every punch Nuned threw landed flushly. Can't wait for the rematch, I think Nunes stops her again but it will be more competitive.

The only way it's more competitive is if Cyborg fights a slow measured pace. If it's a fire fight she gets KTFO again quick. Cyborg's power is overrated and nowhere near Nunes'. She should move and kick and clinch more if she wants to do better.

I don't know. DC went flying backwards from half a Lesnar shove. Imagine if Lesnar hit him in the head with one of those meat hooks the way he did to Mir, Couture and Herring. DC could get badly hurt. Obviously DC is the favourite but Lesnar shouldn't be underestimated.

If the fight had happened in Vegas as originally scheduled, Nunes probably would've lost. She might've fought at a slower pace and not had the same energy. Check out her comments:

“When I was in Vegas, my sinusitis was pretty bad. The whole week, I look at (fellow UFC fighter Nina Ansaroff) like, ‘This is crazy. Again, no. We have to do something about that. We have to talk to USADA to see a medicine, because I can’t fight like that.’ My head was crazy. Then, when I wake up, the fight is going to move to L.A. I get to go to a better climate, you know? When I saw that, I say like ’Everything is in my favor.’ Even that. Like, move the whole card? This is amazing. And I was very happy.” - Amanda Nunes

And funny enough, Gustafsson isn't even half a boxer. He has no speed or power. He's more so a tough tall rangy guy who can take a good wallop and hang in there.
The illegal groin kick in the first round ended Gustafsson's night according to him and he couldn't recover from it fully. Jones obviously being the far more polished and diverse fighter was likely to win anyway but you'd think Gustafsson would've done a hell of a lot more than just following the guy around and throwing weak little punches sporadically with no real intentions behind them considering the magnitude of the event.

205 needs more elite strikers with good TD defense. Jon is not as unbeatable as he looks. 205 is just a weak division riddled with bums.

I don't know if those salaries are too low, but they are way higher than they used to be.

Jones uses his considerable height and reach advantage over his opposition better than anyone else. He knows how to create and maintain distance using movement and outside strikes. The only way really for Cormier to close in on him is to eat several shots just to get one in. It's like the Lewis/Tua encounter. Tua couldn't close in because of Lewis' long reach and jab. Cormier gives up over a foot in wingspan and half a foot in height to Jones. So naturally Cormier is at a distinct advantage physically.
And on top, Cormier doesn't posses incredible handspeed-footspeed and explosive one punch power although he can hit fairly well but people aren't scared of his strikes. I can see Jones staying champion for the next 5-6 years up until around age 37-38 when he starts declining physically and slowing down and when a new generation of evolved young fighters are coming in who are proficient in their striking and wrestling while also being taller, rangier and faster.
But then again, hard to see Jones even fighting for that long. He'll probably be banned from MMA for failing more drug tests or he'll end up in prison for killing someone with his car while coked up.

I wonder how strong an Olympic wrestler like DC would be today, had he been taking east-german steroids and kicking it with powerlifters for the last 20 years,.....

Like most drugs I'm sure steroids have improved drastically but I imagine part of that is not just the benefits, but all the ways its usage can avoid being detected. It does make me wonder if athletes could inject/ingest whatever in the hell they wanted and no testing of any kind was required or even taken into consideration what world records in various sports would like look like as compared to the current ones.

Imagine Usain Bolt taking every steroid known to man. Maybe he'd have done the 100m in 7 seconds?

I think 8.5 is more realistic.
Since the late 1940s, the world record has only gone from 10.48 to 9.58 using many drugs....
