Take a movie and replace its leading actor with another actor who is good but would not fit the particular role.

It is easy to come up with 50 Cent as Michael Corleone examples but the actor has to be a good one.

Jack Nicholson as Forrest Gump could be an example. The wicked grin just wouldn't feel right

I'd imagine it would be a more intimidating situation for Matt Damon if Christopher Walken played his shrink in Good Willing Hunting, instead of Robin Williams.

"So, WILL, we're gonna have a little Q&A. And the risk of sounding redundant, please.... make your answers genuine."

Matt Damon "You're not gonna break me, doc. I'm not one for breaking the ice."

Wallken's response..."The ICE... is gonna BREAK!!!"

Brad Pitt in "There Will Be Blood".

    on the flip side

Daniel Day Lewis as the stoner on the couch in "True Romance".

Not that he couldn't pull it off, but he'd have to delay production 8 months while he researched the role of playing a stoner on a couch, and then "becoming" that role, for the 3 minutes that he appeared onscreen.

You laugh, but Hoffman wouldn't have been any worse than Pacino.

I love Pacino, he's one of my favorites, but he was terrible as Tony Montana.

Realistically, Scarface shoulda been made in the late 80s, with Andy Garcia playing the role.

At least Garcia is a real Cuban, and wouldn't have the comical accent.

Jack took a piss this morning that has more acting talent in it than Leo has in his whole body.

Picture DiCaprio trying to play Jake Gittes in Chinatown...

Sylvester Stallone as Stanley Kowalski in 'A Streetcar Named Desire" would have been a riot, but at the end I think Sly could at least pull the 'STELLA!!!' line shouting 'ADRIAN!!!' instead. By the way Vivien Leigh was miscast in the movie with her old Hollywood acting in contrast to Marlon Brando's method acting. It didn't match.

I can see DiCaprio having a crack at characters like Bobby Dupea, David Staebler or Billy Budussky...but a Randall P McMurphy or Jack Torrance would be like bad karaoke.

    Let's not go overboard.

Apart from Denzel, nobody can match Nicholson's charisma, but Leo is a damn good actor too and has more versatility than Nicholson ever did. Nicholson as a smart but vulnerable guy in Catch Me If You Can? Not happening

I would argue that Paul Newman might have had the most charisma of any actor.

But Nicholson, and Denzel are up there.

I don't think Leo's an EXCEPTIONAL actor to be honest with you. He's a good one.

I think his charisma is greater than his acting ability. Leo's more charismatic than a lot of actors - but Nicholson has him beat by a lot there, and hence, has him beat.

Let's not compare Leo to Jack. Let's compare him to who Scorsese TRIED to make him into.. DeNiro.

    A terrible experiment.

The Departed wasnt one of Leo's better performances. If we're being totally honest, he actually got out-acted by Matt Damon in The Departed.

Marky Mark actually stole the show in The Departed - he turned in a better performance than Damon, Leo, and Jack.

Leo was very very good in Catch Me if You Can and The Aviator. His two best performances.

How bout Tom Hanks playing Michael Douglas' role in Basic Instinct?

Lol. That would be a terrible miscast.
