Season opener was kind of weak, some really cheese dialogue and rushed, but finished on a more interesting note

 

Cersei n Euron dialogue was shit...."she really wanted those elephants"...20,000 golden company who must be some sorry bitches if Euron could kill a bunch of them while in transit...n Theon n his band infiltrated one of the ships to rescue his sister(nevermind those mighta been Greyjoy people).....

The dialogue of the whore while servicing my dude Bronn was cringe worthy I would told those whore to fill their mouth with my cock..no more talking...


That ride around with the dragons was lame...n gay....

Gendry/The Hound/Arya talk was good......I want to know what weapon Arya wants made...

N why would Cersei send BRONN to finish off her enemies?

I don't know I like the episode but I was expecting more of a bang....Jon n Arya reunion wasn't as great as I thought it would be. Still liked it...

I think this show is just foreshadowing.....

the way Arya was looking at Jon when he was marching in....her words to him when they met "Don't forget that" ...

the camera zooming in on the returning Karstark girl(leader)...

It was a 'meh' episode even though it had some 'bombshells' like Arya facing the Hound, Jon flying a dragon, Jon being told he is Aegon Targaryan (and he has been fucking his aunt!). For being one of just 6 episodes left, this one was cooking very slow in comparison to last season where it went on hyperspeed and practically every episode was jaw dropping. This one felt like the first half of The Fellowship of The Ring where we had to endure many meetings before we just started the action. Hopefully episode 2 will give us some action ...or it will turn into a Two Towers: waiting two hours for the fucking battle to start.

That includes 11.8 million television viewers who watched the popular fantasy drama on HBO at 9 p.m. Sunday night. The rest were viewers who watched two encore presentations, combined with those who streamed the show with the HBO Go or HBO Now apps. It had the "largest night of streaming activity ever for HBO," according to the network.

I could have watched last night but I decided I don’t want to do the thing where I have to wait a week for each episode. Instead I’m going to rewatch seasons 6 & 7 again to refresh my memory and then watch season 8. I think I’m doing this partly because I want to binge watch and partly because I’m not ready to say goodbye to the best most amazing tv show ever.

 

"The Battle of the Bastards" was the greatest episode of this series. I can rewatch that one a hundred times!

 

Then you should start from the beginning..... lots of reunions...n symbols going back to season 1..

I’ve already seen 1-5 several times already. I used to rewatch all the seasons before the start of every new season. So now I just do the last couple.

 

Why didn't Arya not show Jon her valyrian dagger?

 

She needs to keep some things to herself, like 'The Girl is No One'...

 

My top 10 episodes in chronological order would be:

-Baelor (fucked up beheading, Tyrion tells the story of Tysha)
-Blackwater
-And Now His Watch is Ended (mutiny at Craster, Daenerys takes the Unsullied)
-The Rains of Castamere (red wedding)
-The Lion and the Rose (purple wedding)
-The Laws of Gods and Men (Tyrion in court)
-The Children (Tyrion escapes, hound and Brienne right)
-Hardhome
-The Winds of Winter (the whole sequence with the music and the lead up to the destruction of the Sept is one of the best scenes I’ve ever seen in any show)

Actually that’s nine, I don’t know what would be number 10.

I’m not as big on Battle of the Bastards as a whole episode as most are. I think the battle is amazing, but I didn’t care much for the script and logic. Sansa had begged Jon to try to take Winterfell back, they unsuccessfully went to different northern houses for support and stressed off being outnumbered, and Sansa didn’t bother once to say “hey we might be able to have a big powerful army to help us”. She uses Rickon to appeal to Jon to fight for WF and then the day before goes “Rickon is as good as dead”. The only logic for her not telling Jon that they may have an army is....well, I think the director said they just wanted it to be a surprise when the Vale came. And it wasn’t a surprise. Some minor things it’s fine if there’s not much logic, but this is a huge, huge part of the episode.

Also, didn’t Shireen get burnt quite some distance from Winterfell? Stannis sacrificed her so they wouldn’t starve/freeze to death on their long march to WF to battle Ramsay. Yet the night before the battle, Davos takes a walk out and right there is the toy. They’re suddenly like half a day walk from Winterfell.

As far as battle episodes go, Blackwater is the best IMO, and might be the best overall. It’s a very complete episode with great dialogue, acting, and an exciting battle. It has great dialogue within the battle (Tyrion’s speech, Cersei tormenting Sansa). I think it’s the most complete episode in getting a little of everything.

 

Tyene Sand had the best tits in Westeros. One of the few bright spots of the whole Dorne plot.

Does anyone else think Sophie Turner (Sansa) look really good on the show with the red hair/blue eyes combo, but only okay in real life with blonde hair?

Gee did that little detail spoiled the whole episode for you? What about the first half when Daenerys teaches the Masters a lesson to never again mess with her and her dragons? That was epic and very satisfying. Then the tension of the 'little man, run to your brother" sequence, the battle itself and the extremely enjoyable beating Jon unleashes on Ramsey then ending with Sansa witnessing her husband becoming dog food. From start to finish this was a great episode that beats many Hollywood big budget films in plot, scope, awesomeness and pure entertainment.

 

It’s not a little detail, Sansa not telling about the Vale is a HUGE part of the episode that affects the whole battle. And the logic behind it is simply to make the action more exciting, it’s sloppy writing. A smaller detail would be the horrendous battle plan for Wun Wun when he’s a damn giant.

Daenerys taking over Meeren again with the dragons was cool but nothing that stood out like “wow”, such as the scene when she took over the Unsullied and they had that great music to end the episode. I personally liked it better when Grey Worm sliced the two guys anyway. It’s a great battle scene and a high quality episode in a show filled with high quality episodes. Many of which have better plot and dialogue.
