It was written in the sky that he would go back to fighting no hopers. Guy simply doesnt really want to test himself. Still, 15 m is an incredible sum of money
Unless he is facing charlo I have no interest in watching him But If hes really getting 15 mil who can blame him for taking such a fight
It's better, but I wouldn't go quite that far. GGG also hasn't been the beneficiary of of multiple dubious decisions. As far as his opponent goes, yes it would clearly be better if he was at least facing somebody we've heard of. Maybe we can't blame a buy for taking 15 million but I'm not getting any piece of that so i don't care.
Canelo’s FOUGHT Much Better Opposition, Undoubtedly. The Verdicts Can and Will Be Debated into “Bolivian”, But That Shouldn’t Detract from WHO Canelo Fought. Similar to How Most Acknowledge Dela Having a SUPERIOR Resume, Despite More Than a Few SHAKY Decisions Along the Way. REED
I've said it once and I'll say it again... both Golov and Canelo should be remembered as two of the most overrated fighters of this generation.
I already agreed that Canelo's resume is superior, just saying i don't think the difference between the two is so gargantuan. It's also always been easier for some boxers to get certain matchups than others based upon promoters and fan base, and not just the quality of their skills. De La Hoya indeed had one of the best resumes of recent times but it helped a lot that nobody was going to turn down the opportunity to fight him. I'm not claiming everyone is or was "terrified" of GGG, but before or after their encounters you know every fighter and promoter would prefer to take on Canelo given the choice.
The general public. Neither are great fighters IMO, they just receive great fighter hype. I still think that a fresher Golovkin of 6 years ago would have beaten Canelo by a wider margin, but it certainly doesn't look good for Golov that he struggled with the only two top guys he ever faced. In retrospect, it was laughable to discuss how Golov would fare against a Hopkins, Hagler, Jones, ect.
How is it "laughable"? I'm not saying he'd beat any of those guys but he would have been an absolutely massive scalp on any of their resumes. Are Antuofermo, Minter, Roldan, Holmes, Joppy, Mercado better than Golovkin? RJJ was one of the greatest of all time and a personal favorite but his middleweight resume was basically garbage. Other than Hopkins who did Roy beat you would seriously favor over GGG?
Ezzard Charles vs Canelo at the weight Canelo weighs the day after he rehydrates. Then ring the Food and Drug Administration and tell them you finally figured out how much Clenbuterol and Rehydrated Ginger you can fit in the back of an ambulance.
Charles destroys him in 3, and only to hear... "The end comes at 57 seconds of the third round, and we have a majority draw!"
alvarez's resume DOES shit on golovkins. now if golovkin had fought badou jack, it would be a different story
Funny you mention bitches, cause ya boy Kownacki turned down the opportunity to step in and fight AJ... like a BITCH.
His fatass woulda had a month and a half to prepare, not a week. Any fighter with balls would JUMP at the opportunity to fight the sport's biggest star with OVER a month to prepare. Kownacki and his team arent taking the fight cause they know AJ would destroy his bum ass.
The Difference IS Gargantuan Though... Golovkin - Ouma, Proksa, Rosado, Ishida, Macklin, Stevens, Geale, Rubio, Murray, Monroe Jr., Wade, Lemieux, Brook, Jacobs, Martirosyan, Canelo (2x) Canelo - Baldomir, N'Dou, Hatton, Gomez, Cintron, Mosley, Lopez, Trout, Floyd, Angulo, Lara, Kirkland, Cotto, Khan, Smith, Chavez Jr, Golovkin (2x), Fielding, Jacobs (Assuming it Comes to Fruition in Less Than a Month)… While it's TRUE Some Quality Fighters Chose NOT to Face GGG, it's Also True GGG Chose NOT to Challenge Himself When he Could've...He Offered Ward a Catchweight of '64 for Ward's Supermiddle Title...But Just as GGG Refused a Catchweight for Canelo or Cotto, Ward Refused a Catchweight for GGG... Steve Jobs or Whomever it is GGG is Fighting is CONSISTENT w/the Level of Opposition he's Preferred When the Particular Opponents he Sought Weren't Available... He Certainly HASN'T Been the Most Ambitious Fighter Ever Seen, Regarding Opponents... REED
Had He Simply Acquired a Title @ '68, There'd Be LESS Criticism of his Resume... But Who Needs a Good Resume When You Have an MSG Merchandise Record, Right???... REED
If You KNOW What the Fuck You're Looking @ It Is... Both Have or Will Have Fought Jacobs and They've Faced Each Other Twice...There's No Floyd, Lara or Cotto on Golovkin's Resume, However... You DO Realize Even Roy Jones Jr has a SUPERIOR Resume to GGG, Right???...And Y0u're Renown for Bitching about Roy's Resume...Only Logical Conclusion is You DON'T Know What the Fuck You're Looking @... REED
