Yeah Leonard clearly takes good care of himself. Doesn’t look to have aged much either.

Still don’t care for him as a commentator, but he’ll always be one of my favorite fighters of all time. Guy was an artist at dissecting and breaking down an opponent round by round.

 

Hated the guy, still hate the guy... he's got the same fake, manipulative, nasty personality as Isiah Thomas - I'm no basketball expert but when I watched the 30 for 30 about the 80s Pistons, I was struck by how much Thomas reminded me of Leonard; that same surface charm blurring the picture of a ruthless character ... he was a fantastic boxer and fighter but a disingenuous prick that liked to play with loaded dice at the negotiating table.

 

Haven't seen that doc but Isiah always rubbed me the wrong way as well. For a so called "bad boy" he seemed more like a snake than a genuine hard man.

 

Sport-for-sport you cant really compare the two.

Leonard is MILES greater than Isiah.

A consensus top 5-10 all time boxer versus Thomas, who isnt even top 20 all time in NBA history.

 

Thomas is a legitimate snake and you wont find too many old timers who like him. He's an asshole and a back stabber, point blank.

It's well known by now that Leonard was beating Juanita's ass. And not to defend that behavior at all, but he was a raging alcoholic and coke head at the time he was beating her. It's possible that the combination of the two was turning him into a monster.

Since laying off the booze and coke, we've never heard of any stories of domestic abuse on his current wife, Bernadette, who he's married to since the 90s.

Trump is waayyyyyyyy past "prick." He's an extremely evil man and a sociopath.

 

I think he just means that Trump essentially flaunts his lack of scruples and virtue as if it were somehow admirable whereas those two guys pretend they are really nice guys

 

I've heard some stories about Trump before he was president saying he was surprisingly nice and was actually interested in hearing what people had to say. Not sure if those were rare experiences or not. I do think it's possible that Trump is the kind of a guy who turns up the asshole dial when on camera, whereas guys like Thomas and Leonard are the opposite.

Either way they're all assholes even it's at different levels or for different reasons.
