Pulling straight back from Fatty is probably a recipe for disaster.

    I think a 30-year old DLH would out-box Canelo

At 154?? What age was Oscar when he fought Vargas.......2002..........so he's about 30 then. I dunno........Oscar did indeed handle a damaged Vargas but it's so hard to pick anyone off Oscars record that fights in that Fat-Burst style. Then again, Oscar is fast like Khan and Fatty looked poor there in stretches.

Yeah I Can see Oscar lead him on a merry dance for a bit. Provided Oscar times his Oyster-Coffee thing right this time.

In fairness, it was a long time ago and Pirog's career was ended abruptly by severe back trouble so we don't really have a great sense of his actual quality as a fighter... he was undefeated

Chance would be a fine thing.

Unfortunately he also has designer pills and designer lotions and he probably took some........

I've heard several in the boxing media refer Canelo as one of the best fighters of this generation.

    He's without question overrated.

    Danny has a decent chin.

He's hardly James Toney in the chin category, but he's not Amir Khan either.

    But Canelo can hurt him.

    The Game Has CHANGED McDogg...

Back in the Day, Boxing's MARQUEE Fighter Was Usually its BEST Fighter Pound for Pound, Simultaneously...It's STILL The Case Every Now and Then in Contemporary Boxing Also (Floyd)...

But Dela Hoya Broke that Mold...Good Looking Kid, Olympic Gold Medalist, Mother Tragically Passes Away and the Kid Can Actually FIGHT?!...REED Can't Stand Bob Arum, but His Promotion of DeLa Hoya was EXPERT...Hard to Fathom What he Could've Done BETTER, Honestly...Dela Moved the Needle w/Mainstream Fight Fans, Hardcore Fight Fans and MEXICAN Fight Fans in Particular...

All the While, Dela was NEVER the Best Fighter in the World Pound for Pound, but he Fought BETTER Guys Than Anyone Else of His Era, His Bouts Became EVENTS and a Blueprint was Formed...

To REED's Knowledge "Cindo de Mayo" and "Mexican Independence Day" Weekends Became the 2 Biggest Dates on the Yearly Boxing Calendar BECAUSE of Dela Hoya....

Canelo's the 2nd Wave of a Tried and True Method Bruh...Whether he EVER Achieves # 1 Pound for Pound Status or Not, Canelo's Already a Certified STAR in Boxing...

Prime for Prime, Dela was More Athletic and Naturally Gifted, But Canelo was More RELAXED and CEREBRAL...

Dela was More Antsy, Prone to Overthinking HOW He Should Fight, Replacing Trainers and Shit...

DLH was better than Canelo in a P4P sense. Not even debatable.

The 140 pound DLH was on a different level than Canelo.

Canelo wins at 160. Oscar wasn't shit at middleweight.

At 154, I'd take the Oscar that beat Vargas to win by UD over Canelo.

In this matchup, we don't have to worry about Canelo getting a gift, since he's up against the man who gets him those gifts.

DLH got some benefit from the judges for sure but he's also on the losing end of two of the more contentious decisions in recent history

Mosley-DLH 2 is hardly one of history's most contentious decisions.

It was actually a close fight, and while Oscar has every right to think he won, it was hardly some Lewis-Holy 1 type robbery.

Let's not forget the HORRIFIC gift Oscar got over Felix Sturm.

Sturm won about 9-10 rounds. One of the worst robberies ever.

"Two of the more contentious decisions in recent history"

That means there was a lot of controversy over who won and that it happened not that long ago

    What are you arguing against?

You point out some guy has a somewhat similar haircut to Duran.

"What are you talking about? Those guys aren't even close! Duran would have totally demolished the guy. Completely different level of fighter"

X is cool, but he's a very emotional dude. Once one of his trigger words is pronounced (canelo for example), it's pretty impossible to have a discussion with him

Canelo UD. Drops Jacobs at least once.
