Caught the first episode today and was instantly hooked. Has a nice cast with Timothy Olyphant and Drew Berrymore. I really enjoyed the pace, atmosphere, and story. The comedy is pretty good though not funny. Although it isn't similar at all there is something about this show that kind of reminds me of Atlanta. I've only seen one episode so far but I'm definitely going back for more and I suggest you check it out too.
Man I started the second season of this show on Netflix and I just love it. I was wrong about it not being funny because I’ve been straight cracking up over this show. I don’t think it’s for everyone the way a Game Of Thrones would be, but for me the comedy and performances just lands right on the nose. I have a feeling this will be the last season as I never see it advertised or hear anyone talking about it, so I’m probably in a big minority of people who are fans.
No I think she’s quite good in it, but then again I actually like Drew. In fact I think the whole cast and even the extras are good in this.
I've watched both seasons, mainly because of my man-crush on Timothy Olyphant, but I can't rightly recommend this show myself (though it's one of the few shows my wife actually likes). It's kind of grating and a little too campy for my tastes. I DO find Barrymore annoying in it, though I can understand why some people like her. She's likable enough, and even when she does things that are supposed to be offensive, still comes across as relatively inoffensive. I do have a strange fascination with that movie she directed about Roller Derby for some reason. Mainly I have the same problem with it as I do with "Walking Dead" even though they are wildly different shows with similar themes. People constantly get themselves into manufactured predicaments, either through plain stupidity or sheer stubbornness, simply because the plot requires it of them, and not because of any compelling reason.
Dude. This ain’t the Walking Dead at all. If ever there is a “turn your brain off and have fun” kind of show this is it. Anyone who tries to analyze or take this show seriously at any level is going to absolutely hate it. For instance, I was watching it last night and for a second I realized how ridiculous and unrealistically TO was delivering his lines and I suddenly realized he’d been doing this every episode. Then I switched my brain back off and had a few laughs. But a lot of what you wrote is why I say this show isn’t for everyone.
I watched a couple of episodes and quit. Not my kind of show. I don't like gorefest shows or movies like that. Walking Dead is supposedly great, but I don't watch it for the same reason.
Just found out the third and final season was released last month as Netflix just cancelled it and a few of their other shows. Apparently Netflix is known for not letting most shows run more than three seasons. Oh well as Game Of Thrones can confirm, all good shows must come to an end. I’ll definitely be diving into the final SCD season.
