Anthony Joshua: Lennox Lewis is a Clown, I Don't Respect Him! Wow, think AJ is a bit sensitive. I've only read tweets from Lewis praising Joshua more often than not. Lewis has been critical of AJ in the past for not doing enough to make the Wilder fight, but he has a point there and there's no way that Lewis is a jealous hater. He's just given honest opinions. AJ can't handle the truth!
Lennox could step in the ring tomorrow, no camp, no warm up and still KO AJ. AJ couldn’t hold Michael Grants jock strap.
I'm sure Lewis got no sleep last night, devastated that a neanderthal bum like AJ doesn't think highly of him.
"Me and Lennox are cut from a different cloth." Yes, AJ, you got that one right. Your cloth contains no talent.
Lewis isn't a nice man, and neither is AJ in all probability. But since when have we expected that from fighters anyway?
You're exaggerating. Never been a fan of Lewis, as everyone knows, but what's the evidence that he's not "nice"? I think Lewis is a bit arrogant, but there's a level of arrogance in MOST top level athletes. You sorta need it to achieve greatness, I don't care what anybody says. I think AJ is a good man as well, I just don't think he's very bright. That second statement is ignorant as Hell, and demeans OUR sport for no reason. Fighters are no bigger pricks than athletes in any other sport. In fact, in boxing you'll probably find on average MORE humble/kind guys than you will in other sports. Bad apples like Wilder, and Floyd just give the mainstream the unfair perception that boxers are assholes.
Lewis isn't a prick for stating what EVERY single fan has stated in the aftermath, and what's painfully obvious - AJ was ill-prepared for Ruiz, and the man can't box to save his fucking life. Those are facts. How is Lewis a prick for stating as much? AJ is mentally soft.
I agree certain type of arrogance is needed for an individual athlete to be successful, or pretty much for anybody for that matter. Also, I am not saying fighters were dickheads. The thing is, we as boxing fans have usually not complained if Tyson says he will eat children or drive Ferguson's nose into brain, or if Erik Morales or James Toney are rude. That's why I have very little trouble with what AJ says either
The thing is, Tyson, Morales and Toney were absolute, world-class boxers who stepped up and proved it again and again and never based their success on general-public-thicko popularity or trying to be a brand name.
Things have gone badly for Joshua but this was unexpected. In the meantime, his rematch with the guy Lewis used to employ to valet his car is in doubt.
AJ being sensitive here. Clearly the criticism has gotten to him. He better have all that blocked out, come time for the rematch.
Lewis works for PBC. Of course he's going to rag on the DAZN guy. Probably the only reason they hired him.
Lewis is an extremely wealthy man. If he got fired from PBC broadcasts tomorrow, I doubt he'd lose a wink of sleep. He doesn't NEED Haymon's money enough to push an agenda. A guy like Tim Bradley, who's not a fraction as rich as Lewis, is likely more dependent on his ESPN check, thus more prone to cheerleading house guys. Bradley's Top Rank cheerleading is sickening - he probably does need the check. Lewis is just saying the same things as everyone else - AJ is just butt hurt.
You "could" be right. But on the other hand, rich as fuck guys bust their azz everyday. So the fact Lewis is rich in no way guarantees he is objective. Just because he is rich doesn't mean he doesn't want to do "good" work in his job.
I'm not even sure what Lewis said that is so controversial. Loads of people have said McCracken is not good enough to take AJ to the next level. The way to shut them up is to stick with the guy and win, not throwing your toys out of the pram.
