Season 2 is killing it so far. berkowitz, BTK, Manson, Im only 3 episodes, but it seems better than the first season.
You need to do some thread merging man. Already two threads, including one started by you. I'm 3 in myself. Started off better then the first season, but the first season consistently got better as it went along. We'll see with this one.
My missus was watching so i saw some stuff, including the Charlie Manson interview which was impressively cast but mediocrely written i thought. Nothing else caught my attention
It's just fine, above average but not exceptional. I would put it down to the pacing, a bit sluggish, like they have a five series arc and they are determined not to be hurried
The first season is slow. it gets going towards the end. Once you hit Ed Kemper you are hooked. BTW, this is David Fincher Series.
This is for sure your style. It's very good and i think you could appreciate it in the end, but it takes WAAAAAY to long to get there. And i think you would turn it off to watch it later and forget about it.
I appreciate that you get my style Anthony and I think you know it pretty well but one thing I don’t watch is tv shows that don’t hook me in at least the first two episodes.
Yeah, i think you would like it in the end, but i dont think you would stick around that long. It's a well made show. But it takes a minute. Hell, you might benefit watching a the show in reverse. almost like a momentum type deal.
I thought the Manson interview was pretty great. Did a good job of showing how impressively manipulative he was.
SPOILER But it was definitely a change because of Tench and his personal issues going on and Manson basically telling him his boy is fucked.
I just looked up the dude that played Manson and it's the same guy who played Dewey Crowe in "Justified" and a sexually confused hitman in "Quarry". Dude's got like 100 credits and everything I've seen him in, he's been a completely different character then anything else I've seen him in. Solid, solid character actor.
Yo I liked that guy in Quarry, he was a good actor, kind of reminded me of Jared Leto’s character in Dallas Buyers Club. I also really liked Quarry and was sorry it didn’t get picked up for a second season.
Yeah, "Quarry" was a really solid show. It was during that really brief period when Cinemax put out a couple good shows that were actually worth a shit.
And then cancelled them after 1 season. They cancelled Quarry because of low ratings, did they think a slowburn crime thriller set in 1970 was going to be a ratings hit with today's audience? Quarry had some pacing issues but it had potential to be an epic crime saga show if they gave it a chance.
