That’s right, based on a true story.

No not necessarily. Then again we don’t not need more movies about racism either. Lot’s of subject material out there, one is no better than any other and it’s the story that surrounds the subject that matters.

What’s wrong with movies about racism? Does white guilt get you down?

Because deep-down, the Western world (and Hollywood) is in the middle of a 'self-conscious' phase if pretending "we care about these issues".

    White guilt?
I wouldn't know what that was, if it indeed existed.

Okay, I just Googled 'white guilt' and educated myself about it.

So, the fact we just hired a black house-cleaning maid last month would suggest, "No, it doesn't 'get me down' becsuse it doesn't resonate with me".

Hollywood has always pretended they cared about racism. It’s the same reason there’s always been movies about racism. Just because pretending to care about racism has gone mainstream doesn’t mean it’s a subject that should get nixed from films. All that matters to the film-goer is that the subject matter be entertaining and in the case of Hollywood, profitable.

I am still waiting for a Hollywood film to tackled the injustices done to Puerto Ricans for the last 100 years. Still nothing.

    Puerto Ricans count.
    We are important and superior.

Because it is a COLONY is that this issue needs to be addressed and Hollywood can find its new noble cause.
