Analyzing the style and talent of all three, it's plain to see that Smith is an easier fight for Canelo than Benavidez/Plant would be.

STILL, I'm not complaining. I have no problem with the fight.

The ground has already been laid by Fury during the Wallin fight., all the Cinqo De stuff and the Mexican hat and colours etc. Clear as day.

Sources: Canelo to next face Saunders on May 2

    Saunders it is

I'd be amazed if Canelo can sellout T-Mobile or MGM Grand that week when coronavirus explodes in Vegas considering they just had they're first confirmed case earlier today

Canelo will beat the shit outta BJS.

That leaves Callum Smith in the dark.

I suppose Neddie Earn might now try to set up a Jacobs vs Smith matchup.

It will sell out is my prediction. Canelo will stop this guy. I think Alvarez is about the best out there right now, what I term as a Complete Fighter. No, he's not perfect, not a Sugar Ray Robinson by any means, but he's damn good and a very powerful hitter, does everything right the way it is supposed to be.

Ben Davison was one knockdown/straight Judge away from being able to call himself a trainer of a HW Champ of the World.

Between Saunders and Taylor, only one of em can fight, so my choice would be easy...

But in all seriousness, I'd assume he'd choose BJS. It's a bigger payday for him (Davison) and BJS will need all the help he can get.

Taylor shouldn't have much trouble with the guy he's fighting in May. It's not like he's fighting Ramirez.

Saunders has skill. I don't think he wins but he's not a scrub.

Perhaps he can send his little boy in again to do his fighting for him like kick Canelo in the nuts at the weigh in. Had that little rat bastard done that to my guy - I would have smacked the living shit out of him true that, and/or hit his father in the face.

Never said Saunders wasn't a cunt, he absolutely is. Just saying he's skilled.

He deserves the ass kicking he is gonna get from Canelo - he doesn't deserve the money he is gonna get from the beating, though.

Saunders can't buy a decision and he ain't scoring a Knockout but I guarantee he will make Canelo look a right mug until Clenelo's, uh, conditioning starts to tell.

He would have his moments. He is similar in compact build and lethal power to Rodrigo Valdez, who put Monzon on the floor. He is better than Rodrigo overall and I rate Valdez high historically. Ultimately, No One Beats The Greatest Middleweight Champion Ever who prevails in a 15 Round UD. That would have been The Bull versus The Matador at Luna Park.

Canelo would have a shitload of problems with Monzon. A 400-year-old Kov was controlling him with the jab for Christ Sake.

Monzon's job would paste him all night long, and by the late rounds Monzon would turn up the heat and Ginger would just be covering up taking punishment.

And in covering up he would also block some of those punches. That would be considered defensive greatness and he'd get the decision.

is it fair to say mayweather jr's victory ( a near shutout) over a much larger and younger alvarez is one of the all time greatest victories in boxing history?

Yes, I have said this many times. It was one of the greatest boxing performances I have ever seen. That put him up there with Leonard, Napoles, Armstrong, Griffith and Hearns. I don't think Mayweather could beat those guys, but he's in the discussion with them.

If it was so good one judge wouldn't have scored it a draw.

Yes, but Fury needed a guy to get him to concentrate on letting his shots go a lot more and to put some weight behind them as he was throwing arm punches before. I am not a Fury fan at all but he improved a lot with the new guy from Detroit. As I said before - Fury gets by on one thing only and that is his size. If he were six two you would have never heard of him.

If he was 6'2" he'd have a totally different style.

Believe me, if Mike Tyson was 6'9" we'd probably never have heard of him either.

Never got this line of reasoning. If you have the tools, why would you not use them? The fact is, he is 6ft9, just like Ali was really fast and Foreman was strong.

Of course., to mention nothing that his entire mentality as a fighter is influenced by his physicality.

Mike was 5-10", 220lbs and fought accordingly.

If he'd been 6-10" people would have looked at him and said "Only wins cos he's massive".

But he was tiny, and was still winning.

No reason to think he's a killer at 265lbs like was at 220lbs.

    It's a sport of individuals.

Clenelo will win, but Saunders will test him. He's an utter prick, but he can fight. He's awkward, skilled and smart. No idea why people here are claiming he is a bum. He isn't.

I know. And yes, he is a total prick. He'd be breaking houses and assailing people if he couldn't box.

But I don't see Canelo getting rid of him.
