Doesn’t work on apps, unfortunately and since I do most of my YouTube watching either on my phone or my Roku, it’s of no use to me But it is a good idea if you’re using YouTube on a computer
In Fairness, Bob Arum and HBO INTENTIONALLY Misquoted Floyd in That Particular Instance... The Actual #'s Escape REED, Nonetheless, When Presented w/a New Multi-Year Deal, Floyd's Response Was "....Compared to What They're Paying Prince Naseem, That's SLAVE WAGES!"... But Instead of Presenting the Quote in it's FULL Context, Arum/HBO Attempted to Bury Floyd... REED
Did You REED the Entirety of the Post You Responded To???...Revisit the 1st Sentence, in DETAIL, and Hopefully You'll Ascertain... REED
Well yes fair enough I know there was some context to it...........but basically Floyd was getting better paid than Dave McAulay ever was back in 1988 fighting killers like Bassa in his 8th fight. It puts into perspective what being ripped off really is. Today all those Northern Irish fighters would be earning big bucks, especially John Lowey who looked like somebody who just got out of a refugee camp but was more than holding his own with Morales.
Youtube premium is worth the outlay. It's 4 coffees {3 in the USA, we always get ripped off} a month for basically unlimited uninterrupted fun.
Cycle of Life/Sports.... EVERY Generation of Athlete, No Matter the Sport, Is Woefully UNDERPAID Compared to the Generation That Follows, @ the Elite Level... REED
For Flyweights, yes. It wasn't until Carbajal that a Flyweight got a $1m purse and I think Kevin Kelley was the first HBO {126lb} fighter to make $1m. I think. I know Carbajal didn't get his $1m until 1993 and if he'd not been Latin he'd never have gotten it.
Yeah it’s awesome... anytime I encounter YouTube on somebody else’s phone, I’m reminded of how much ads really suck
Seldom... I don’t use my laptop much other than for my iTunes and watching fights Usually use YouTube on my PS4, Roku or phone
There was an ESPN fight in the mid 90s between Prince Charles Williams and Merqui Sosa. It was a brutal fight from the get go. The ringside doctor checked on both fighters after round 7 and stopped the fight stating neither fighter was in condition to continue. Ruled a draw. First and only time I have seen that.
Quarry got up off the floor to win this thriller a month before he nearly lost his life in the rematch with Joe Frazier.
Frazier didn't hit Joe any harder in the rematch than he did in the first. Quarry was simply past it.He had one more semi-important win thereafter, a KO of Lorenzo Zanon.
Jerry broke his right knuckle on Earnie Shavers and was never the same after that. Hs hands were already very bad going back to the Ron Lyle fight and that was it. That Zanon fight was so bad that ABC refused to televise any more fights of his and the suits at CBS were so angry he fought on ABC they did not renew Jerry's commentating contract.
Worth a look because of all the retro stuff people might have forgotten. Coetzer would be a live dog today. Tough guy. Not many people fought Bowe and Foreman. George was too fond of pushing guys off with his big arms so he could get them at the range he wanted. Also Merchants performance supports my theory that Larry wasn't a bigot, he just fucking hated "modern" fighters and preferred his "own era".
I liked Coetzer he had a lot of courage. Fought Bowe, Bruno and Foreman consecutively. He had good form but not a lot of power but he was in good condition always and though he lost those fights, he had several moments in them.
Dorin-Balbi 1 was a good scrap Juan Meza-Jaime Garza, good one round scrap, upset and great KO Not sure if forgotten, Antwan Echols-Charles Brewer was madness
Alway surprising to see how much better of a boxer old Georges was. Makes you wonder how good he could have been if he wasn't fighting like a neanderthal
